Kadeshi Pilot: ... y'know, in retrospect, you guys WERE a captive audience. Interrogator: Indeed we were. And yet you still attacked. Kadeshi Pilot: Well, to be fair, it's all we've ever done for the last 1,300 years. Interrogator: Really? See, that's something you could have told us while we were trapped. Kadeshi Pilot: Yeah! Actually, we've got this whole history I've been tracing since you first entered the nebula-- Interrogator: Great - I'm gonna stop you there, and, since now YOU'RE the captive audience, ask some more pressing questions. Kadeshi Pilot: What could be more pressing than the revelation that we, at one point, were the same people? Interrogator: Oh, I dunno... fleet movements, how many hyperspace inhibitors you have... that sort of thing. Kadeshi Pilot: Aw, shop talk?! I thought you guys would be gaalsien. Interrogator: ... run that word by me again, please? Kadeshi Pilot: What, gaalsien? It means "cool" in our language. Like, chill. Bros. Real informal and personable. Interrogator: ... funny, we have that word too. (cracks knuckles) Now, start talking, or I'm gonna go gaalsien on your ass.

Not going to lie, when I first played Homeworld I captured 5 or 6 swarmers from when they ran out of fuel and a refuel pod for my own little squadron. I'd like to think those few Kadeshi made it to Hiigara, but, that's what fanfiction is for...

I mean to be fair, if the choice is "float dead in space with no option of surviving" or "join the people who you really quickly realize are your long-lost bros and probably have something in common and have been kicking the ass of the people who sent you into the nebula in the first place"...

24:00 One thing I was always fascinated by in the original Homeworld was that you could pick whether to play Kushan or Taiidan, with the other faction becoming the empire. Thus, the game was implying, purely through its mechanics, that this is a cycle that has played out throughout galactic history many times over, with one group rising up against the other.

I think you mean quite literally every level in the game. On my last playthrough I think I managed to capture about 70% of all the frigates in the game. Including 100% of the ones in the inhibitor level. The sheer amount of frigates actually softlocked the game until I retired like 30 of them.

Note the difference in the tone of the offers made by the kadeshi ambassador. Last mission he was very much cocky - not really expecting you to take the offer to join and instead be utterly destroyed by the swarmers. Quite the arrogant one. Having seen the desaster unfold that was mission 7 - he makes the same offer again, this time because of much different motivation, though. And you can tell. His voice is much more mute and while at first it still does bear a hint of self-entitlement, this vanishes after Karans speech about their homeworld. He makes slight pauses while speaking, so he is thinking. But trailing along the lines of their dogmatic beliefs there is but one conclusion he could draw - that to stray from their path would be death. For a moment he sounds almost sad before finishing grimly: "This can not come to pass!" Like the gaalsien they became so scared of their own stories they wove that they would eventually even sacrifice themselves for them. They estranged themselves from their former brothers until they could not even remain alongside whom they once swore to protect or called brethren. They lived in fear for so long that they eventually embraced it with heart and soul.

There are a total of 18 Multi-Beam Frigates in this battle so I just went all out and got 16 Salvage Corvettes. Half would be in the ambush instance while the rest will come once the 3rd Kadeshi Lollipop went back to the identical wreckage of the Khartoba. You will also get a couple more MB Frigates deeper into the story :) I do love the raw firepower of these MBFs, it can burn off the HP of a Destroyer/Missile Destroyer...just make sure you get a threesome of Support Frigates as they are fragile.

Glad you're back! Please, until the end of the game ^^ I noticed a little difficulty at 6:27 when you tried to move a group to a below point, where you supposed there was a Kadeshi mothership. Maybe it was due to some sort of 'panic' of the moment, but if not: just notice the 'vertical' line that drops until the ping point; you should simply put the cursor at the top of the 'vertical' line, and apply the vertical movement up to the desired point.

well if you treat the core just as power source then - no not really - if the core only provides the power - then the Drive signature would mostly depend on the engines themselves - and those were reverse engineered from the Transport ships (Khar-tooba's) so if cadeshi had the same type of ship and also reverse engineered the drives - then the signatures would be very a like - there would be SOME differences but rather small ones. The trick is in how you create the wave form - various races tech might do in specific manners or sequences - and there might be variation in how each race does this. So if you reverse engineer alredy existing system like exiles did - then the methodology itself would be the same - aka do this then this then this then this with this stuff and then voila - a wavefront appears. So yes by reverse engineering they could do things the same way - so kadeshi could get the hyperspace without the core itself - basically they would use different powerplants - and keep in mind they dont need to go far - they operate only in the nebula itself - so those plants could be relatively weaker/simpler/easier to make. Hyperspace core was immensly powerfull - which allowed for extremaly long jumps in comparison - Kadeshi have/had no need for that. They only needed short jumps and enough power to "arm" the jump inhibitor field generators. which prob just introduced some sort of intereference and would prob need way less power than the jump drives themselves - the large power needs would be manifested only if they wanted to project the field way too far- in the game you can observe that theyir needle ships are relatively close by to the targets - so in essence that might sugest relatively short range of the inhibitors.
@Dreamlands15
@Dreamlands15 5 жыл бұрын
Correct. My assumption is that the Core is what the Drive will use to generate the waveform. So the Kadeshi must have had some knowledge of how exactly that happens in order to create smaller versions of their own drives. Like, any HS drive that doesnt utilize a Core will operate on the same principles, however I suspect that there are various methods for HS drive operation, which must create minor variations in the waveform generated.
@krzosu
@krzosu 5 жыл бұрын
@@Dreamlands15 I think the HS cores are just massive advanced powerplants - which are mostly optimised for HS usage - That seems to be implied in the HW2 where you need all three cores to power up properly the ancient ship in the end missions or the hypespace gate itself. So in essence the drives itself would make the wavefronts - the same engine with or without the core would impact only the max range of jumps. So thats why both Kith reversed engineered the same type of enignes they ended up using the almost identical designs. the major differences was that kith from Kharak had the core - so they could make way longer jumps in comparison. Imho its sorta weird to assume that you NEED the ancient hyperspace core to jump at all that would totally contradict seen footage as many races without the cores - jump in and out in the game freely. (basically that would mean that each ship has an ancient core onboard). So - thats why i think the cores are just awesome plants that give you insane range - but have actually nothing do to with the drive signature itself - that depend just on tech of the drive its based on.
@Dreamlands15
@Dreamlands15 5 жыл бұрын
@@krzosu I'm quite sure the cores generate the wavefront. Reason being that while the core was dormant on Kharak itwss creating a field around the planet that disrupted normal travel thru hyperspace, and normal space even. The core was certainly not hooked up to any hyperdrive during the exile. So it must have been active without a drive for it to power.
@krzosu
@krzosu 5 жыл бұрын
@@Dreamlands15 Um i'm kinda curious where you got that info - That the core was inhibiting the travel on /around kharak ? In the first game there is a hint that the higarans were prohibited from develepong the hyper technology under the penalty of extermination - but that's about it - there was also no mention of this in HW cathaclysm or HW 2 - so im curious where did you find that info ? (i admit i havent player the deserts of kharak game so maybe that lore was in there or smth ?) No ill will here - just simple curiosity since i love the lore of that game/universe :) Cheers.
