I’ve noticed that most people decorate based on trends… what everyone else is doing, instead of finding their own style. Perfect example: HGTV and everybody’s ‘must have’ granite countertops and open concept! My home is full of only the stuff I like. They don’t match, but I know how to make them go together.

BRAVO 👏🏻 a young woman after my own heart. The quote she mentioned, that if you find something you love, buy it and you’ll make a place for it, is so true. That’s how I furnished my stone Bucks County farmhouse, all with beautiful vintage and antique items, either inherited or found at auction houses and estate sales. What’s so important is to be able to recount the stories behind each item. WHO the artists are, who the furniture maker were, where they were found. It shows intelligence and humanity vs hiring a “decorator” to “do” one’s home.

My favorite part of this home is the " ladies lounge". I would never leave that room. I also love the artwork by Megan Carne. Soft pastels always do it for me. However, somewhere in my home I want something that has a bold color. 🧡💛❤️💚💜

I’ve never seen anyone easily incorporate crabs into their decor. She really figured out how to be eclectic without it being overwhelming. It’s all tied together with a neutral white and it just clicks. We’ll done!

Selling my home in the Hamptons at the moment. Will miss the Hamptons for sure. I am not a fan of open concept. If this were my home, I would put up walls to separate the rooms. This way it does not look so overwhelming Traditional is best. Open concept disrupts intimacy. Millennials love the concept. It fits that generation only n will soon fade away. Her home is so large, accommodating, that open concept created too much volume. Almost like walking into a high end furniture store with sections upon sections of things to see, that one forgets to enjoy it all She decorates beautifully though I think in a few years people will be annoyed by the audacity of taking walls out. It lacks spirit. Just my two cents.

The side table and all the woodwork on it and all the beautiful weight was finished off with gorgeous you may not have been to school to be an interior designer but I think you’re doing a better job than a lot of them do because you’re home feels like a home and it has so much beauty and love in this home. Some of the designers forget that there’s so sterile and I don’t like them. Those are budgerigars on the panel, commonly called budgies, endemic to Australia. I love that you've repurposed the art someone commissioned for their wedding - big mystery to me is why they didn't keep it! It's lush. Fits perfectly with your style. I think I recognised that you have a kumera/sweet potato vine growing in your croc woven pot? Then I saw another. They make such a great pot plant. Love the idea of using an actual picture book for a guest wedding book! I might steal this and use it for a funeral.
