It touched my heart when I saw this series part 1 n 2. I had joined Darpana academy in 1974 as a puppeteer and witnessed launching of ISRO, Doordarshan, IIM . I had an opportunity to meet him personally at Darpana and my first reaction was “he is આજાનબાહુ” “પરાણે વ્હાલા લાગે તેવા છે”. Same with Amma. ❤❤ we r so proud of him and Amma for their contribution to Indian society.

She's a queen on her own - she owns the room she walks in, she has a commendable & elequoent skill to engage people in conversations at the same time, even though she comes from a family which played a tremendous part in putting India on the field of Science globally, she's still so humble, down to earth & vivacious. The interviewer definitely could have done a better job in displaying some amount of professionalism & enthusiasm. But she owns this interview.

Dr.Mallika is a treasure that we the people of India need to preserve ….what she has is of immense importance …the stories of our ACTUAL nation builders ….I find it very disturbing how people tend to idealise frauds like Harshad Mehta and have no idea about the likes of Bhabha and Sarabhai. A fascinating interview. I attended one of the first performances by Smt. Mrinalini Sarabhai when she resumed dancing following the death of Dr. Sarabhai. It was touching, and yet, inspirational. If only we an cultivate scientific temper, broad mindedness, and stick to facts, instead of denigrating the great leaders who laid the foundation for modern India, and desist from obscurantism and invented glories of imagined past, we will be a truly great nation.

Me and Mallika Sarabai used to work out in same gym (Golds Gym) Shivrangi x roads 15 years ago. I also participated in a dance competition in Darpan academy and came runners up when I was a kid. The show is brilliant but they shouldn't have changed Meghnad Saha's character with Raza Mehndi. Moreover, the character was depicted as a villain. General public wouldn't do fact check. Just to show the greatness of Bhabha and Sarabhai there was no need to demean other great scientists who contributed so much. Mallika Sarabhai herself should have opposed this.

Amazing interview about an awesome show. Thanks for getting her to the show. I just felt that the interviewer could add more life to the conversation, at least half the liveliness that she’s brought it. It feels disappointing to see that he’s just focussed on the next question, not bothered about reacting to her responses, adding a couple of sentences, and so on. I’m sure the virtuality could be a reason, but when your talking about a show which is on highlighting human emotions, the interview is ironically so mechanical I felt. Recently there was an interview on the same channel interviewing the child actors of early 2000s and it was so lively. Here there’s a contrast between Mallika Ma’am and the guy. It appeared to me that he’s just not interested in what she’s saying, but to ask as many questions as possible.

It was normal in middle class educated homes during that time to provide an “education” to their children, either through music and dance or through dining table conversations centred around what was happening in the country, history and art. The only topic not discussed was how to make money. It was taken for granted that the literacy received in school and college would get them a job which would feed them, but they needed a cultural education that would nourish them
@cg8397 Жыл бұрын
If that's true, then it's the stupidest mistake of the Indian middle class because a job was never guaranteed even back then. But the Sarabhai family weren't middle class, they belonged to the 1%.
