Hi!! It's really a funny joke 😂😂and I get it after understanding the word paws witch is the homophone of pause. Some homophones: - tide and tied; - hear and here; - mail and male; - sale and sail; - sun and son; - ate and eight; - flower and flour....... Thank you!

Hi Mark, as you know when we associate an imagen at a word, it's easier to remember; with your joke's series you get it to improve our vocabulary, now I'll always remember that bears have paws, no big hands.

Funny Mark about the paws!! I thought of these few words Leaf-leave, bed-bad, way-weigh, seat-seed, meat-meet, colt-cold, back-bag. Don't know if it's correct, the pronunciation of some words is not exactly the same.

🙋‍♀️ Hi Mark!!! Incredibly sweet joke!!! Like I said, I was lucky enough to have been born with pretty small paws!!! 🐾 I really enjoy this series of "joke-lessons"!!! Let's have more of the same!!! 🙏🙏🙏 During the last years I compiled myself a list with difficult English homophones!!! The worst examples I can think of are "holey, holy, wholly", "rain, reign, rein", "way, weigh, whey" and worst of all "right, rite, wright, write"!!! Quite confusing, don't you think??? 😜😜😜 Alright, my friend, it's your turn!!! 😉 Your "German-word-of-the-day" is the noun "FERNSEHVERBOT"!!! If children don't behave properly they aren't allowed to watch TV for a certain time as a sort of punishment!!! That's called "Fersehverbot" in German!!! That leads me directly to this currently popular lame joke: "What is FERNSEHVERBOT called in Russian??????" "NJETFLIX" (njet=no in Russian)😉 Regrettably, that's about all Russian I remember from school!!! (Yes/da, no/njet) 555!!! Have a nice day!!! By...??? Nope!!! Buy...??? Nope!!! Bye for now!!!! Yup!!!😁😉🤣 Take care, my friend!!!🙋‍♀️

Hey Mark! Your lessons are always awesome! Thanks a lot! I got the joke only after you had explained it. Why did the bartender ask about the pause anyway? Perhaps the bear is just a learner of English? Haha! As I am. But I can order whiskey with no pause at all! I'd like it to be a double shot with no coke or ice, haha! I hope you are having a nice day too! Take care! P.S. I sent you a bit of a picture joke about a teacher to the Madenglishtv Facebook. What do you think of it?

Hi Mark!! Great joke! Actually the joke series is awesome. We get a chance to understand Western jokes and pun. If I may add a little conversation with this picture it goes like this: BEAR: " Hey Bud, (short for buddy) I know I'm a bear so please bear with me and believe what I'd say… You see, I saw a bud of rose, rose from the ground!… It's true! I'm not lying. The rose is laying on the ground then it float!!" MAN: "Hmm. Really?! I think you're just hungry. It's past Eight o'clock, did you eat you dinner?" BEAR: "Yeah, I'm hungry. Can I have a steak on a stake? " Thanks for this lesson. Maybe I should try if I have a knack for story writing. 😀🧐😎

It's a funny joke. The reason why jokes make people laugh is incongruity. People whose mother tongue is English don't learn grammar. It's normal. Because they have been immersed in the English environment since they were young, and have too many opportunities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. When Chinese students learn Chinese, they just learn some grammar. However, mainly through a large number of reading, improve the level of Chinese. We need to learn grammar because we don't have enough time to contact with English and it is easy to get confused. Sorry, I don't agree with you. :-)
