What kind of twisted mind do you have to have to consider their actions (fans') a bad thing? Apparently hating on those guys and what has been happening lately was a-okay. I really liked Jensen's very firm answer, I guess she didn't expect that. I've always wanted to hear J2 address the toxic fan effect, like how much do they pay attention to it and whether it diminishes the fan base in their eyes. I'm not sure I understand where the question-asker was coming from, though. Was she making fun of those of us who wish we could shield the stars from the slings and arrows of the uber-critical fans? No, I actually think she's right about the so-called, self-appointed defenders of J2 humanity. You see it with any and every celebrity with a die-hard fanbase. Any critique is immediately shot down and torn to shred no matter how non-malicious it was meant to be. For example, a lot of people weren't too crazy about some of the episodes this season and most of last season, but God help you if you dare to express it. This fandom is known for swooping down and clawing you half to death you DARE to say anything critical about J2 or the show. I think that's what she was asking them about.

Lucretia Cohen she asked this question not long after the whole drama with rape joke when the Js were basically torn apart by some nasty fans online. It was hard to just let it stand and not answer those people because suddenly when you entered a tag connected with J2 there was so much hate and negativity. Not criticism, hate. Some people made it seem as if Js were super horrible people. Last few weeks has been really awful when it comes to spn fandom, people talking shit about everyone and their mother and Jared and Jensen were targeted pretty hard too. So of course fans reacted to that.

@@katies3143 at NOLA convention in 2017 Jared said a joke "does this smell like chloroform to you". Minions and social justice warriors flipped out on Twitter and made such a huge deal out of it that for a few days that was the only thing you saw on Twitter in Jared and Jensen mentions. It was horrible because even some gossip site picked that up and you know, it felt like a betrayal from the fans. Jensen kinda alluded to it at the next convention (DC). Fans made them look so bad for no reason. You have to see the video from the panel. It was clearly a joke, but recently we live in a society that is butthurt over everything.

The chloroform joke that Jensen and Jared made in New Orleans con. Destiel fans like Lua James campaigned to get Jared fired for it, because he is ''encouraging rape''. J2 had to offer a formal apology for a stupid joke. Destiel fans hate Jared. J2 fans started trending #IsupportJandJ. They feel with Jared out of the way, Destiel will be canon. I don't mind shipping, but they should keep it out of the actor's faces. And I wish Misha will stop encouraging them. Maybe he doesn't know what they were doing because if he did, he would stop pandering to them.

It was a simple joke that he warned them was offensive but they kept trying to get him to say it and he finally did. The people who think that Destiel will ever happen in the show are crazy. Can't 2 characters be friends without everyone wanting them to hook up? By the way some of the fan art that people have made of J2 is way worse than that joke.
