Honda 2.3 outboard basic start and stopping.

Basic guide for starting and stopping with some tips. Note; this is for my particular engine other engines may have different tweaks. Always were the safety cord, I've not put it on just for this video.

Set throttle to just past the tortoises head, gives a fast idle but no prop drive, much easier half throttle is way too much,,is that emulsified oil in the bin?

Hi yes my throttle has a bit of play in it. When cold it needs a bit more throttle than when warmed up. Yes it's emulsified oil where some went into the water when I drained the old engine oil.

Just bought one didn't know there made in China. I'll treat it gently im running it in gently. Just hoping it lasts forums say 500 hrs it's not a Honda mower. Motor 🇭🇲

Mine idles much too slowly and often stalls. How do i increase the idle speed?

Adjust the carb, probably involves a bit of dismantling to get to the adjuster

Depending on model you might have to remove the top part of the air filter off to get at the adjusting screw on the carburettor. Easy to do I think it's an 8mm spanner.

Probably a seized clutch.
