Its the Factory diverter valve. The reason you can hear it, is because of the intake system.

@@ferhataslantas9522 yes you are hearing the factory diverter valve because of the intake. All 2018+ Accords have turbos and vtec stock. You don't hear it kick in like the older vtec engines

If you are looking for sound go with an open filter lntake like my K&N. I have since found that the stock intake with a K&N drop in filter felt better and that's what I am running now. The PRL would be a good choice but not sure it's worth the money from my experience. Just change the filter cheaper and probably almost as effective. candy kush I noticed the same thing on my 2.0T Sport. Especially right now in the Texas summer heat, I think these turbo 2.0 engines suffer from heat soak when a short ram intake is installed. I still haven’t swapped it back to stock yet, nor have I dyno’ed it to get any data. It just feels like it’s slower when it’s really hot. Not by much, but maybe a few hp. My car is a 2018 lease and is due to be returned in 9 months. I’ll swap it back to stock before returning it obviously lol. It sounds awesome and still has plenty of power, so I’m not disappointed. When it’s cold it feels faster than stock, but again that’s just me...

I would recommend it for sure. Mainly for the nicer deeper engine note as well as being able the hear that awesome diverter valve whoosh. As far as power gains it was hard for me to tell since my car was tuned before I had installed this. But definitely a slightly better throttle response. Hope this helps your decision.

It's hard for me to tell because I did the tune first. But when I did an intake on my previous Jetta GLI it definitely woke it up. I wouldn't expect to get a huge difference in power if you get it. It does sound pretty nice though.

You'll get more or less 5hp, maybe even less. Only changing the intake won't really make a noticeable change in performance, it's more about the sound. If you want real change, go for a tune, stage 1 (or 2) or change both the intake and the exhaust.

@@ninjellica nah it's pretty straightforward. But if its cold by you, be careful you may break the plastic push pins. They are very brittle in cold temps. If its warm they will flex a bit.

The car is tuned but a tune isn't required for an intake system. A CEL would be highly unlikely.

Actually I do live fairly close. The acid based wheel cleaner always causes that after a wash. If I use something alkaline based it doesn't seem to happen like that

All you need is the intake to get that sound if that's what your asking. My car is tuned so the diverter valve will sound a little louder since the car is making more boost over stock.

Hey there! Just installed your k&n air intake into my accord 2.0L turbo too and I’m hearing a humming or holo kind of suction noise around 2000 rpm at 25 maybe 40 mph. If I give it gas then it goes away. Is that what’s it’s suppose to do? Everything else sounds perfect though. Please help!

It really only makes noise giving it gas under a load. Double check connections for leaks to be sure its normal.

You can actually hear the same noise in this video, it's just faint. I just installed the intake on my car and experience the same thing. It seems to be the heat shield rattling based on what I've found other people saying. I've also heard it on other videos on KZbin - especially pronounced on startup. Probably going to dump the k&n and give mishimoto a try

No sir, that is the factory diverter valve you are hearing. The open intake lets all that sound out thats being hidden by the oem air box.

@@kevindai6 I had a cold air intake add noticable power to one of my cars before, it added a ton of sound too. It really depends on the car. If you want to for the sound go for it, but there is no guarantee you get power. Cold air intake can also mess with Mass Air sensors too, I had that issue when it was under 20 degrees before. Car would idle like crap. If you go for it good luck but keep all the stock stuff in case you have issues and need to go back.
