Honda Accord Rear Brake Pad Replacement. In this video I show how to replace the rear brake pads on a V6 Honda Accord. Many older Hondas have drum brakes in the rear, however this Accord has rear disc brakes. The exact vehicle in this video is a 1999 Honda Accord EX V6 Sedan. Enjoy!
The brakes on this vehicle were making noise and can be heard in this video: • Help! Strange Noises ...

Dave, excellent video. Everything you mentioned I encountered when I just did the brakes on my 99EXL Accord. I installed the exact same pads and yes you have to select the exact hardware and yes it's a fight to get the pads in the clips. All in all the video was spot on. I'm having hot coffee I recommend you have something cold, Have a good one Artie👍👍👍 yes I changed out the fluid but also did the front brakes. Rotors were fine.

Great video! well done. I am actually trying to do this on my 1999 coupe accord auto. Piston seems blocked although I'm in Neutral, no hand brake and brake cable out, not sure what's wrong.

I don't think using the torque wrench is overkill, my thoughts on it, if you have it and have the torque specs then use it. For those who don't know what it does, it applies the correct tightness so it won't loosen and without over stressing the fasteners. Thanks for doing it right, good video!

Question I was bleeding my rear breaks and didn’t have any break fluid coming out from the bleeder screw, so I went under my hood and found the rear break line and opened the nut and I had fluid come out can it be ABS module going out.

Is there a difference between copper anti seize and the gray anti seize? Is either one for higher heat temperature applications?
@BigDog50001
@BigDog50001 4 жыл бұрын
The copper anti seize is made of copper flakes and the silver one is made of an aluminum, copper and graphite blend. They both are great for high heat applications. The silver is more general purpose and is better at salt environments I believe.

Have you ever removed the slider pins from one of your previous brake jobs and confirmed that there was still some silicone paste on the slider pins still doing it’s job after at least 50,000 miles?
@BigDog50001
@BigDog50001 4 жыл бұрын
I have not seen an issue of brake caliper slide pins seizing after silicone paste was used. The stuff works great and is what Honda recommends.
