I have serviced our Activa (HET) first gen model only at Authorised service centre here and some things I would like to share with others also - 1.Engine oil change - 3k km or 6 months 2.Oil strainer (When oil is replaced) 3.Spark Plug - Replaced at 10kkm , Gap checked and adjusted during each service 4.Transmission belt oil (Gear Oil) - Full replacement at 10kkm (Level checked always) 5.Clutch Greasing - Each service (Its good for smooth action of belt ) 6.Suspension greasing - Each service (So that the rubber bushes have minimum friction and wear and tear 7.Battery - Voltage checked 8. Carburetor cleaning (When vehicle feels underpowered ) 9. Engine slow speed adjustment - I haven't done as I drive in economy (40-60) , but for riders encountering mileage issues , adjustment of slow speed(Idle speed) , can increase mileage by 5kmpl 10. Fork Adjustments (Activa is known to always have weak forks , so its better always that its adjusted during each service, as due to our poor road conditions , fork suffers misalignment a lot)

Was doing service in the service center for 5 years and also trusted. Activa het had broken back side mudguard which was not available in Honda service center, so bought original mudguard from outside shop and got it installed from outside mechanic. The price of which was Rs 610. It was then discovered that this secondary filter is associated with this mudguard. Which has never changed. Which was formed from a thick layer of mud. When shown with a bad filter, the answer was no further such mistake.

Please give information regarding two points: 1) what is the carburetor's air mixture screw setting prescribed by Honda? It is not stated in the Owner's Manual and it was not examined at the workshop either, nor was it discussed by you even though it is the most vital setting in a carburetor along with the idle speed setting, which alone has been adjusted at the workshop. Please inform after checking the Service Manual at the Honda workshop. No vehicle can run smoothly without adjusting the Air Mixture Screw as prescribed in its Service Manual. Simply adjusting the idle speed will not help; 2) You have stated that SAE 90 be used as Gear Oil but the Manual is silent in this regard. So where is it prescribed by Honda that SAE 90 should be used as Gear Oil? At Ranchi, the Honda workshop uses Engine Oil as Gear Oil and not SAE 90.

Leekage na hone ke bad bhi agaar oil kamm ho Raha hai toh Matlab apka engine petrol ke saath oil ko bhi jalla Raha hai. Ye tab hota hai jab piston ring kharab hoti hai toh. Piston ring badalne ke liye engine kholna padta hai jisme bahut kharcha atta hai.
