One more comment. I'm from the states. Quite a few years ago I enjoyed a British TV show here on PBS. It was called "All Creatures Great and Small" about a country vet in the Yorkshire country side. Loved it. Your accent brings me back to that time. Thank you.

Hey Henry thanks very much for the great comment and understanding my Yorkshire accent too, you're more than welcome my friend.

I think you've hit the nail on the head! 94BHP is ample, lots of the magazine reviews complain it's not as powerful as the KTM 1190 Adv but you really don't need that much power. I've ridden both the manual and DCT versions and have to say I prefer the DCT model, especially when it is in manual mode! I've got one on order, just waiting for it to arrive sometime later this year or early next year .... Thanks for the 3 videos, watched them all and probably the most honest review I've seen to date!
@SurfPilot8 жыл бұрын
+MikeonabikeinEyke Hi there Mike, Yeah I've heard nothing but good things about the DCT albeit I never road one, but would love to have a go, but then I'll probably prefer it.I hope you get yours sooner rather than later mate, I know there are reported to be delays now because of the earthquake? Thanks you very much for stopping by and sitting through all 3 videos, I appreciate the great feedback my man.

I brought my CRF home Saturday, and I've been looking for a KZbin channel with some Africa Twin stuff that I enjoy watching. Subscribed!

Hi their thanks very much for the views and the sub mate I appreciate it, I am going to the Alps on it at the end of the Month on a mancation and documenting the good the bad and the ugly on it, so hopefully some useful entertaining vids to come.

Gday from Australia. I just watched all three of your Africa Twin video reviews and having owned the exact same bike (even the colour) since mid February I couldnt agree more with your findings. A bloody brilliant motorcycle for all occasions. Hope you keep on enjoying it. Happy trails mate.

+Stewy Mojo Gday Stewy i love Aussie's, not in a gay way just a man hug high 5 way, but don't tell the rest of the poms :) seriously thanks for the views and taking the time to comment my friend. I try to keep my vids honest so not to mislead people, truth is as you know it's a brilliant bike. Ride safe mate.

Haha I understand completely mate. I have some decent tyres on order, due next month and looking forward to being more 'adventurous' on my AT. But with 3600km on the factory rubber I have been very surprised at the bikes capabilities. Glad you're enjoying this brilliant bike mate. Take care

I got those headed grips on my 2016 Cross runner and they rock !!. I am interested in trading it in for the DCT Twin :)

It's bizarre they don't do the Tri Colour in the 'US' it would be a great seller, maybe they will in 2017?

Nah then Surf Pilot when I pressed play next saw intro I thought it were a calif ornaments beach bum takin a break from his surf board & it were a Yorkshire man riding in Yorkshire. must have played through 10 reviews before yours trying to find a proper honest owners review & I found it! This is a cherry on top for me cos Im South Yorkshire born n bred. tha' na's. Cracking review. I have (amongst other bikes) a kawasaki KLE 500 (a scaled down version of the A.T also a parallel twin ) for general commuting all round use and bike rallies which is very capable off road & the Africa twin is summat to definately step up to. Like thee I just want to ride where ever I want &;if I feel urge to spontaneously turn onto a bridleway for a little adventure I like the freedom to do it and the bike to do it and I have done it many times! In fact I love it so much I want to keep doing it! Great honest reviews tellin it as it is the Yorkshire way. Anyway keep these vids coming, look after thi sen & dunt do owt I wunt do. All the best, Dan from Penistone, South Yorkshire (now living in Lincolnshire -better weather cracking roads but miss Yorkshire humour & banter ) 😉💪👍

Ay-up mucker, how's tha doin mate. (you can to the man out of Yorkshire, but you'll never take the Yorkshire out of the man) it's great to hear form someone who shares the same riding styles and enjoyment as me, the KLE is a cracking bike mate and great all rounder. you have made my day viewing and commenting on this video mate thank you.. ride safe my friend.
@ginjaninja11537 жыл бұрын
Surf Pilot . ALL I can say is your video sort of stood out to others as that reading from same hymn sheet as me. Yeah the KLE is a very underrated bike & doesn't get any credit. when I bought it it were the ONLY parallel twin 500 traillie that only cost £3300 brand new! (knocked salesman darn in typical "HOW MUUUCH!" true Yorkshire way. But even at 4 grand ticket price brand new it was a bargain. that's what a 125 costs FFS! How can it not get credit for that alone? anyway look after thi sen ride safe n keep the bids coming 💪👍

Great accent, great review! Can we ride on Bridle Ways? As i have seen conflicting laws regarding rights of use.
@SurfPilot7 жыл бұрын
Hey man thank you for the nice comment, I do appreciate it my friend... You're absolutely right I said it wrong :/ Bridleways are a no go for Motor vehicles, horses walkers and cyclist only, 'by ways' are all good though
@johnrocker29867 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the update I'm new to the area, I live near Goole and think I know the area your riding, although I don't have an adventure bike, knowledge of where I can go off road with mine through your You Tube exploits is of value to me. Although I ride mainly in North Lincs, Yorkshire looks better?

Who makes the crash bars? Are they Honda? BTW, I think the Tri Colour is coming to the states for 2017.
@SurfPilot7 жыл бұрын
Hi there my friend yeah these are the Honda ones, I know they get a lot of hate on some forums from those who have never had them, but I have laid my bike down quite roughly 'off road' and they did the job perfectly, without a scratch or bend in sight. they also don't cause any vibration problems that I've heard from other makes. You guys deserve the Tri colour I can't believe they never shipped it originally. Ride safe my friend and take care :)

where abouts in Yorkshire you from mate looking for some good byways to find on my bike
@SurfPilot8 жыл бұрын
Hi Arron sorry for the long delay mate, a town near Wakefield mate, Holme moss has some great byways albeit some are a bit sketchy for the Twin I laid my down the other week on one :)

As a Manc I can understand the criticism of that Yonner accent... Only kidding, it's fucking lovely. A lot of mates up over themills so it's like music to me. I did a fair few miles on the old @T, and love the apparent philosophy of the new one. Anything bad so far? I missed the on-road thrill of having a bit of power to play with on the tarmac with mine, and even my RT1100 beat the shit out of my Africa on a dual carriageway, while my VFR somehow still feels like a rocket with only 90ish hp.
@SurfPilot8 жыл бұрын
Hey man you can't help being from the wrong side of Pennines ;) just kidding mate. I'm with you man the power is just lacking, I guess with the suspension and 21" front wheel kind of make it feel good at lower speeds, and I've had the head shaking at 3 figures coming out of bends (over-riding the bike) but yeah the power is down to all the bikes I've owned. That said I did 2500 miles around the Swiss Alps and loved every single mile of it. Its hard one, I love the bike and feel I would not change it. but then it needs more power, a tubeless wheel set up, maybe even a full on-road version, CRF1000M and a CRF1000L then it could tick the box for all buyers.

Thank you for the nice video. What is yor SatNav mount?
@SurfPilot8 жыл бұрын
You're welcome my friend, it is just a cheap one off ebay, i can't recall which one but it zips around the sat nav and bracket will fit handlebars or the screen bracket with some rubber strips.
@fastfrankee8 жыл бұрын
Hi Surf, would you say the riding position and comfort is as good as the BMW r1200 you had.
@SurfPilot8 жыл бұрын
+Fast Frankie Hi there mate, I hope your Ok, you know how I loved my BMW's, this is better in my opinion, weighted better and a lot nicer to ride, the torque is so nice and low it makes a great road bike, and even better down the green lanes.
