Want to thank you for this awesome video. Just bought the african twin along with the touratech c/bs. Was a bit reluctant attempting the installation myself, but after watching your step by step video it has given me the confidence to give it a shot. I love the look of your bike. To me the touratech looks so much cleaner than the other crashbars on the market. Thanks again for your time and energy.

Hey Kyle, I stumbled across your channel fairly recently. I currently don’t have an ADV bike, but hope to in the future. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy riding vicariously through your adventures. Larry in Fort Worth, TX

Have put these on a AT and an 1190 KTM. They are for looks, the coffee shop guys love them. It takes nothing to bend them. Found a product from Rumbux that works on the KTM.

moriver1 I agree that the rumbux are a little more heavy duty, but I have beat the shit out of my bike and have had many hard lay downs on some gnarly trails and they have held up just fine barely even scratched and definitely no bending. I would've went with the rumbux but the shipping was just as much as the crash bars cost from South Africa and it wasn't worth it to me to spend that much on shipping alone. The Rumbux also weigh quite a bit more. Thanks for viewing and please subscribe if you haven't yet. More videos to come.

Are these heavier than OEM? I read somewhere the Hondas upper and lower crash bars only weight in at 5 pounds for both.

Thanks for the video, big problem for me is the bottom right bracket, no way the bolt is releasing as well as it did in the video, otherwise really helpful.

Moriver1 , so I am starting to agree. They are starting to disappoint. I've beat them up pretty good, and they are starting to bend and fall apart. Getting ready to move to the AltRiders!

Nice video, dude. I have a question about the upper chrash bars. In the german forums, people are telling, that they are mounted to the instrument-/cockpit holder. In this case, this holder could brake when you drop the bike. Is this true?
@backcountryadvmoto
@backcountryadvmoto 7 жыл бұрын
Thomas Mustermann thanks for the question. I would say it would take a hell of a force to do any damage to this mounting point. This mounting point attaches to the neck of the frame and is welded. Also it is not a main attachment point. The brunt of the force is absorbed by the lower point. I would also like to add. I have dropped this bike and "tested" these multiple times now and a couple of those were really hard. The bars barley scratched and there was no movement of the bars at all. Is it impossible that this would happen? I would say No it's not impossible, but I would say in my experience it is very unlikely and if they take a hit that hard to do that kind of damage I would say you might have more to worry about more than the bracket ;) In a nut shell. These are the most durable and well made crash bars I have owned on any adv bike. Hope this helps

After taking a dry run at the install today, I feel like you didn't even mention the most difficult part. I can't get the larger, forward engine mount bolt loose because the socket won't go onto it squarley, afer threading the extension through the radiator hose and header. what did you use to get that loose?
@backcountryadvmoto
@backcountryadvmoto 7 жыл бұрын
Ernie Schatz I'm sorry. I didn't have an issue with mine. It was easy to get to and I had no problems with it. The only hard part was the bracket under the head lights for me. Are you a 2016 or 2017?

+Anthony DeFlorio yeah thanks. I actually have two professional lift tables. I used to have a small shop but I am moving so I have them stored away. I use that small table for my smaller bikes usually. It actually wasn't that hard getting up there though. ;)
