17 on mine, helps lengthen the gears out, you won’t be powering up hills with it, but it carried my fat carcass without issues for 2weeks straight, fully loaded, camping gear, spare clothes, the whole shebang.

@@hondaryder3779 I’ve got every faith in the lifan engine, tried and tested. I wish it was a Honda unit but that’s not an option unfortunately! Either way, we’ll see how it goes. 👍

I have recently been looking at places selling these and similar engines, they are not too expensive and some places have them discounted even more. I don't have a Honda 90 but I am always on the lookout for a cheap one to do up. How is insurance affected if the 90 is replaced with a 110 or 125? I have a 2024 Honda Monkey which I love but I am also thinking of getting a used or pre reg RE 350 Meteor or Classic for longer camping journeys. I am enjoying your videos and am awaiting the outcom of this conversion.

@@Christophers-Assorted-Stuff insurance isn’t an issue if you don’t tell them?!! Honestly, the engines look identical, especially if you change the outer cases. I’ve got a Enfield Hunter 350 which I’ve done some big camping trips on. That will feature in future videos. 👍

Do the Honda MSX or Monkey 125 motors fit or is it down to all the electronic stuff. A bit off topic but I have a Skyteam Monkey 125, suprising how good it is really and you can junk all the fuel injection and go back to a carb and ignition from OOracing.

@@Jones-xx2gc unfortunately the monkey/grom engine won’t fit without some serious modification to the frame. Then all the electronics and fuel injection to sort out. Skyteam make some nice machines. 👍

swap the alternator with the HondaOEM one much better Voltage the lifan ones dont really charge a battery very well
