You have no idea how much better you make me feel right now. Inspired by your videos, I bought myself a 1976 CG125 a while ago, started modifying it. But I had that permanent doubt, was it a mistake not to go for the fancier CB engine? You've made a subscriber happy of his choice today, thank you sir. ;-)

Glad it's back online. I said when you did the first loom with Halfords bullet plugs that you'd have electrical issues and you did. Maybe this time you'll listen and get some proper plugs? Those ones will corrode in no time or come loose through vibrations, you'll never be finished troubleshooting it. Needn't be expensive either, vehiclewiringproducts sell Japanese bullet connectors by the bag full. Cheaper on eBay but the quality of the metal is not as good.
@MrAmorti5 жыл бұрын
Ps my first bike was a 1995 CG, pretty similar to your donor bike. Pre electric start and discs but had the round headlight and I think that shape tank. Changed the oil regularly and it gave no issues at all.
@jishh5 жыл бұрын
It actually wasn't the terminals that was causing the problems but the charging system/battery/light combination. I know what you are saying though and it was just a measure of getting it running. im glad I didn't buy more expensive connectors just to end up in the same place as I was when I changed the engine

Hey man, longtime lover of this channel and this build! Quick question if you have the time...so I have a GN125 build that I've been working on for a while (build videos on my channel if you're at all interested), nowhere near the level of beauty that this is but still love ! So, I'm planning on swapping a DR200 engine into the GN125. It bolts right up exactly to the frame. Now my question is, how hard should this be for a total noob who's never done it? Is it challenging dealing with wiring harness and getting everything together to run? Sorry if the question is a bit vague, but any input is greatly appreciated!!

Nice video matey love the enthusiasm for doing this, I have just got a CLR125 passed my test was wondering I can find the cbf250 engines do you know if the CBF engines are the same as cg or cb engines as I want to swap mine thanks!
@thomasjackson9546 Жыл бұрын
I think CB engines are ohc ones (overhead camshaft) where as a CG bike uses an ohv engine (overhead valve). This means that in the ohv engine, the camshaft is located below the combustion chamber, in the engine block and uses push rods, whereas with the ohc engine the camshaft is located in the cylinder head above the combustion chamber. Basically the difference is that an ohc engine typically will produce slightly more power and can be more efficient, but a problem with (especially older ohc engines) is that they can develop servere problems if not given the correct and regular maintenence like oil replacements every couple thousand miles. An ohv engine, on the other hand is cheaper to maintain and will be more durable as they don’t require as much attention and maintenance, but the downside to these are that they’r less efficient and typically don’t produce as much power as an ohc engine does :)

I have honda cg 125 bike. It has ohv engine. Its stock seat and shocks very hard plus with ohv engine's it vibrations make its rider very tired. On the other hand u had cb 125 which i think is ohc engine which has a less vibration and u swap it with cg 125 engine amazing. Yes its right it has more pick and may be more reliable but its not comfortable. If i have choice i will choose some ohc engine bike with good comfotable suspension.
