I’m really tempted to buy one. I’ve always had 125’s alongside my bigger bikes as I just enjoy the fun and mpg you can achieve with them. I had the 2015 cbf125 which was a lovely little thing, this new cb125f looks to be even better!

This bike has been launched in India 🇮🇳 in the name of Honda sp 125 bs6. I have been riding this machine since Nov 2020. it is smooth and gives milage of 75-80 kmpl (kilometers per liter petrol) in city and on highway it gives more than 90 kmpl.

@HysteryProduction3 жыл бұрын
Hi, frenchman here, and I'll probably get this bike as my first bike because it sounds like the best machine to learn how to drive a bike: low insurance cost, low price, economical, cheap repairs, and overall I think it looks nice. But, about your comment with the gear indicator, I personally will value it very much, because when you begin learning, it's very easy to get confused which gear you're in, and knowing that with an indicator is extremely helpful! :)
@125ccbiker93 жыл бұрын
Yeah, fair point. I think it looks good and the quality hasn't been overly compromised by budget. E.g it's a metal tank not plastic. As for the gear indicator, In my experience, I started out on a CBF125 2008 with no gear indicator. It didn't matter what gear number I was in; I never had that in my subconscious. I changed gears through intuitition. Now with a gear indicator, I keep looking at it and it distracts me from the road. All these electronic gadgets make our brains smaller IMO
@korky77752 жыл бұрын
Yea and while you are looking down trying to shift gears you are going to crash..
@HysteryProduction2 жыл бұрын
@@korky7775 No one said anything about looking down while trying to shift gears. It's more about having a reminder of what gear you're in. "Wait am I in 4th or did I shift to 5th?" One quick glance and you now know. Sure it might become redundant once you know your bike around, but when you're learning, it's actually good. Besides, it's not more dangerous than checking your speedometer.

Wow you’ve certainly been through a few bikes recently, I’ve read the Honda CB125R or Yamaha MT125 where supposed to be the all around ones to pick but your Yam issues are now making me think! Thanks for that!
@Labgorilla3 жыл бұрын
What were the Yam issues? The seating position? All this time I am on my analogue cbf125, have done a top end engine rebuild, added a bigger windscreen , gas suspension, box at the back and today I have to rebuild the front break as the lever is stiff. This is part of the joy of motorbike ownership.
@BikingChap2 жыл бұрын
The main reason for the efficiency and relatively tourquey nature is that the engine is massively undersquare unlike bikes like the CBR125R or YZF125R. That also means peak power is modest and anything much above 50mph is straining it, an indicated 60mph will be top whack. Crazy range on a tank full of petrol though. :)

I did notice the bore and stroke being unique to competitors, but never made that conclusion, makes total sense cheers

I’m one year younger than you and just insured my new cb125f today fully comp, 2yrs no claims, 3k miles a year and best price was £178! @alexmckeown91382 жыл бұрын
To be honest I'm glad it balances out the brakes. Only because there is no ABS or traction control and when there is a let's say someone not as good at driving and slam on the brakes. Trust me it comes in handy. Plus you don't really use the back break often anyway on another bikes. Would like to know what you think now as I've never heard of anyone getting a sore head from their ass.

On the one i tried at the dealership there were a strange fuel injection behavior: like in 1st and 2nd when riding with low level of throtlle and slightly varying the throttle it was like trying to shake (like the injection was hesitating) did you feel something similar ? (i also had cbf125 in 2014 and it didn't have that issue)
@ripmax3332 ай бұрын
Maybe there was too much free play on the throttle, on mine there was way too much for my liking, as far as I know the handlebars come assembled on the bike straight from the Factory so the dealer doesn't install them himself from the cradle, I adjusted to have between 2 to 3mm of freeplay on 1st and 2nd I have way more better control, before they were very jerky.

Tbh, no. The seat is narrow and hard. You have to spread when riding. The seat also vibrates creating a sound in the helmet

I'm 6'2" and quite happy on mine. The stock seat isn't overly comfortable, so I 'd budget for aftermarket solutions. I haven't tried riding long distances yet but never encountered ANY(!) bike that I could ride for an hour between breaks.

@@Madforks I wouldn’t mind betting that like the Vision 110 that I have, I could tweak this to run a little richer and give it a bit more get up and go. I still dont know which motorcycle ist the best choice for me. PCX or Cbf125.
@florme6494 Жыл бұрын
Which did you decide on?
@ripmax3332 ай бұрын
I have both😅 PCX accelerates more faster from 0 to 80km/h, struggles less on up hills and you have the benefit of great underseat storage. The CB125F feels slower but the engine is still in running in phase, it's lighter than the PCX 117kg vs 130kg, the wheels on the CB are bigger which also helps when going on the beaten Track like light green laning or some offroad stuff, so this make the CB more versatile, the CB also benefits from a bigger Tank and so far it seems that consume less fuel than the PCX. Seat wise, they are both the same, after an hour I need to rest😅 The PCX although it has a wider seat it has a more approach for flat footing, the CB has somewhat a wide seat and tank and I don't know why it force you to spread more the legs making not as easy as someone might think to put the feet down for a short rider, but the benefit is that it's very light.
