Given how many carburettor problems you have had I suspect that you have corrosion in the fuel tank. You need to treat the inside of the tank and get a slosh coating that is ethanol resistant. Rust particles caused me no end of trouble in the past with both my 250 and CX500. You seem to be having all the same symptoms that I can recall. Poverty prevented me from doing the job properly so I was doomed to be forever swilling the tank out, cleaning the tap filter and stripping the carbs.

Hi Robert, i think you and I are arriving at the same conclusion. I am currently trying to conserve money for a big purchase ( that may become obvious soon) but just watched Nat Knackers Yard coat his tank and feel I should do the same. 👍

Hi Ryan, you mentioned on the video that forks were a bit soft. Had the same on my 250 SD, so put in a higher viscosity oil...10- 30 engine oil. This has made the front end a bit stiffer and much more stable.

Hi, thank you. I have since learnt i need a tool I don't have but placed on order. Once arrived i will briefly cover this. In my case i had too little oil. Cheers. Ryan

That saved you a bit of time doing the carbs on the bike Ryan,a bit fiddley looking though👍

Hi Derek, it did save me time certainly helped. 👍

Thanks great video Ryan and learning from you . I couldn’t get mine started as the battery went flat but only runs on one side when it does start up so will investigate the carbs and clean them . Keep up the good work 😊

Did you make sure both mixture screws are set the same now? And will you balance them . I'm not sure about adjusting one carb without synchronising both afterwards. I'm glad it's at least firing on both now Ryan. I usually go through all carbs however many when one has an issue. So basically the opposite to what was suggested. But that's just me . Peace and love brother , happy tinkering. ✌️❤️🤗

Hi, i did check they are set the same when I was finished, but didn't check the balance. I'm extremely busy at the moment, but will check that when i next get a chance. Thanks again for your comments and support. 😀

@RyansGarageUK It's difficult to put over sincerity in comments. I'm glad you get my tone , sometimes I think does this sound patronising? or rude? It's lovely to see you tinkering with bikes from my era. Cheers Ryan . ✌️ ❤️

Its utter bollocks, from keyboard warriors, who dont have a clue! Unless you drain the carbs if the bike is likely to left for any amount of time, phase separation that occurs with E fuels, may well cause corrosion that will block very small idle circuit drillings in the carb. Its sometimes possible to unblock them, but not really feasible with the carbs still on the bike.

I would agree a full clean needs to be removed from the bike, i had previously ultrasonic cleaned them, so feel on this occasion i was lucky to have resolved my issue simply. I was expecting to need to remove them.

@@RyansGarageUK Thats lucky.......I guess the air filter hoses are a nightmare? Boiling water over them makes it much easier if they have gone hard..............
