I have had 45+ years of working on cars, bikes, trucks, busses, plant and a boat or two and the most valuable lesson I have learnt is that being human means I will make mistakes and I will learn from them. When I stop making mistakes I will either be dead or autographing bibles. Making a mistake is not the end of the world it is how you handle and own the mistake and make the correction that is important. Keep up the good work

When you mentioned about checking the circle on the gudgeon pin, I had a problem when rebuilding my Ducati 900 Darmah SS. Fitted new forged pistons and fitted the circles, on inspection the one circling was moving in the groove! I removed all circlips and measured the wire diameter only to find one was the wrong size wire. It really does pay to check everything !

My first set of spanners were Gedore set of five 8mm/9mm to 16mm/17mm open ended spanners but my second set I bought were the same as your Britool set of seven ring spanners 6mm/7mm to 18mm/19mm. Both sets bought in the late seventies when I could afford them as a teenager and I always loved those spanners, especially as they were my first and they have always been so useful. Good video James.

Thanks for letting me know 👍 I genuinely had no idea. They did talk with me a few weeks back about it but didn't give me any indication of when It would be 😁

I use red rubber grease to hold "o" rings etc, that stuff look a real grabber, may need it some day. Leave the valve clearences at 3 thou they work better and are not noisy or do damage, trust me. hope you did the clearance as per the manual, Ie No 1 and 4 at TDC then 2 and 3 NOT on TDC, do the in ex on 2 and 3 when 1 or 4 are on TDC if you get my drift. the inlet rubbers are diff 1 and 4 are the same but reversed, 2 and 3 are the same but reversed, if genuine originals they will have the number of cyl moulded in a corner, this no faces up, if mot the carbs will not fit. NEW OEM Honda ones do not have the number just the Honda part no so take not when removing.

Very much enjoy your videos, especially the "waffling" which I see as sharing your wisdom and insight. Perhaps I can't see it or maybe it is a unique design but at approximately 3:18 it appears that the pistons oil control rings are two piece instead of the more normal three piece. Could you please elaborate?

They're definitely 3 👍 think it's just the camera angle.
