Read this, I personally own CBR250R, here some factors we can consider CBR 250R is Sport Tourer, not complete race bike, race bike is CBR 250 RR* (doubleR & not launched in India) CBR is NOT meant to be for Track purpose like RC200. CBR has Long Chassis of course because High speed stability, not for cornering. But in 2009 Honda produced an Excellent Engine which is still reliable after 10 years, many people ridden CBR for more than 200,000kilometers. Suzuki gixxer250 SF is just for the Compitition purpose here, you see there are various 250cc bikes in market like Duke250 & 200, Fz-250, NS200 & RS200, but Suzuki had just 150 Gixxer & Sf. But Suzuki is first company who launched their bikes with ABS & fuel injection. But they didnt have any 200/250cc bike in market & they had to make their Point & they did. They launched bike with All new Style with Latest Technology Led lights & mainly LED display(old gixxer also had this, plus point of suzuki) & Dual exhaust which sounds awesome (another plus point of suzuki) & finally the Katana Inspired Design although the Wind shield is short but looks cool anyway. Superb Design of Head & Tail light, Color & aerodynamic design. & how can we forget the MILEAGE is set for "INDIAN Economy (Thanks to MODI Ji Lol)". The Mileage is definitely better than CBR. so overall if we Ignore the Most RELIABLE & Smooth Honda Engine & comfort of CBR, the GIXXER 250Sf can win in many points where CBR lacks.

Cbr250r is a legend like bullet, it doesn't need any design change, it is still more advanced than gixxer 250 because it has liquid cooling which is much superior than oil cooling

Oil cooling still evolving as the next cooling system for motorcycles. Liquid cooling is good but not perfect and I'm sure it will be replaced by the oil cooling system in a few years.

Dude, Suzuki did some innovation on this engine, longer lifespan than normal due to lowest friction and superlative oil cooling especially for india climate. Further, unlike water cooling which is corrosive in aged bike, oil will prove superior on aging bike and less maintenance costs. Think before u ink!!!

Thanks a lot for the video! Gixxer 250 will be a huge success if it manages to offer a more complete overall package than CBR, which includes final price! But looks are hugely important in this segment, and the Suzuki is more of a looker than the Honda, IMO. It does look like a more proper, premium sportbike in the 250cc segment, while CBR looks more like an economy sportbike.

Now I own a Gixxer250 bought at Rs 2.01 lakh on road Kolkata, but i still love my most beloved cbr 250r cabs2011 which i bought for 1.84 lac on road ( now its 2.25lakh almost) . Gixxer is definitely more smoother and remain cool in city traffic, and returns 5 to 6kmpl more milage than cbr. But i feel cbr has more initial, topped at 164kmph. Yet to test the gixxer. I feel both will be same on top.

If both the bikes seem really similar, then one should definetly go for the cbr, cos on any given day, a Honda is better than a Suzuki.. The built quality and engine quality will definetly be better in a Honda

In my exp of owning CBR250R in a city like Mumbai where the traffic is terrible for most of the time, the bike engine is reliable and the build quality is also good. But the only downside i have faced is the Honda Service cost. They just charge you crazy for the labour and parts ain't cheap since its a Honda. If you have a good local mechanic with exp of handling such bikes, you are sorted or else be ready to spend min of 5k for every service. But if you are able to keep the bike in good condition, it will serve you for life. Can bet my life on Honda Reliability. Peace.

Well, no doubt Gixxer has a fresh look and comes with a new engine, BUT, when you compare the engine specs, the CBR comes with a liquid cooled-DOHC set-up while the gixxer gets an oil cooled-SOHC set-up. Now, personally considering this, i would go with the CBR & the price difference also makes sense.

The engine didn't produce that much heat, as we know Suzuki engines are cooler compared to the other engines. That's why Suzuki planned to give it a normal cooling with an upgraded technology, which does the work very well.

I owned both the bikes , in city cbr becomes very hot after riding 8 to 10 km whereas Gixxer 250 is not that hot and also smoother .

Hmm.. so in your experience Suzuki bikes offer better cooling. I can't say much coz I've never rode a Suzuki. But with regards to the specs I've mentioned, apart from cooling mechanism, I'd look for better performance delivery for a single cylinder 250cc segment. And on any day, a DOHC scores better than SOHC. Just another note, as a personal choice, I don't think chrome finish looks good on sports bikes.

I dont know much about mechanism, but what i saw and felt i wrote. Cbr 250 was released in 2011 after that no alterations to engine was done, where as gixxer is released in 2019, suzuki must have come up with something in 8 yrs to reduce heat and return better milage. I also own a cbr150, its the best bike in all respect in 150cc segment. Since i owned cbr 250 so bought gixxer250 but if i haven't would have bought cbr. I love its looks.

just a reminder CBR 250r is Honda's fully racing model Where as gixxer 250 is not a fully racing midel. Suzuki's racing model is GSXR which will come soon in 250 variant. So Engine tuning is a bit off in case of gixxer

Bro I owned cbr250 before n now Gixxer sf250. Both are different. U missed the main point Dohc liquid colled engine vs sohc oil cooled engine. Cbr got prolink rear suspension which is far more comfortable in long journeys. Cbr has got 160+ top speed in some scenarios we have seen. But in Gixxer there is speed limiter in 150kmph. Cbr is legend I still say. If honda just do some minor changes like new digital instrument cluster, minor design change and a bs6 engine it will be segment leader even better than KTM. Coz cbr has got better touring capabilities, pillion seat comfort and better straight line stability.
