Let me tell you why the Z800 is as cheap as it is in India. First up, its a z750 from 10 years ago with very little changes apart from the displacement bump and a bigger sprocket for better acceleration, Secondly it employs a very basic and budget oriented backbone frame as opposed to the perimeter frame from oval tubes in the CBR, something that's track tested by the folks at European Junior Cup racing. Thirdly, absence of fairings and windscreens saves a bit of money. Fourthly, despite having a 24 ps advantage over the CBR, the Z800 with its 20 extra kgs of weight only manages to be 0.3 seconds faster than the CBR in a quarter mile drag strip with a time of 11.5s vs 11.8s. Both the bikes have identical top speeds at 248kmph and both bikes get from 0-100kmph in 3.6~3.8 seconds. What the CBR loses in power, it makes it up with the weight and aerodynamic advantage. Then you factor in the part where Honda was smart enough to give us the inbuilt patented HISS immobilizer which was the reason most European insurance agents downmarked the insurance rates for the Honda SBKs and Supersports for being an effective theft proof system. The one reason the Honda sits 1.3 lakhs away from competition is also the fact that HMSI imports the engine worth 1.3 lakhs as CBU unit and the rest of the bike as CKD unit.
@jaysingh-xb9ol8 жыл бұрын
nice. from which country do they import the cbr?
@cagednm698 жыл бұрын
jay singh Thailand. Also I realized that Kawasaki prices their bikes cheaper than competition but charges 3-4 times the price in spares. A CBR650F front wheel costs 11000 rupees while a Ninja 650 front wheel costs 33000. Also the z800 front wheel costs 40000.
@jaysingh-xb9ol8 жыл бұрын
thanks a lot 4 the info. i own a ninja 650. after hearing that im going to be very careful riding the ninja over rough roads. so honda is making a killing with the pricing n kawi is making a killing with the spares. either ways we indians are getting ripped
@cagednm698 жыл бұрын
jay singh yep. The first 3 services for the CBR 650F is labor free. You only have to buy oil and filter and your first 3 bills come to 3k. Every other manufacturer in the segment charges 5.5-6.6k from the first service itself.

Not sure if Honda is listening but a lot of ownership reviews claim that the bike has a lot of vibrations until the bike completes 4000-5000 km, which was very surprising considering it's a Honda. Apart from that a too silent an Exhaust coupled with a sad/dull looking instruments with no Gear Position Indicator, no slipper clutch and very less color options makes it a sad purchase. It has a lot of potential for entry level people who would much rather prefer a more comfortable of a bike which has the performance of a sportsbike, Is fully faired and can be used on day to day basis. It could be great, just needs a bit of tweeks...

What I believe is that The Honda CBR 650F proves to be quite a well settled and focused package for the Indian riders when considering the components and equipment offered with the Honda expertise. It proves to be quite a tempting proposition for not so experienced riders who are looking for an upgrade and not mind paying a little more. The linear power delivery is quite an important part of such a bike that provides just as enough sportiness with quite some comfort... I tried the bike and to be honest I was really happy with it, apart from some quality issues. But all in all a very nice package. Great job Guys, as always.... Really looking forward for the Blockbuster #3

Hi Sagar ! One quick question ! I am looking for Mid capacity 600 to 800 cc bike.Have shortlisted Triumph Street triple 675 and Honda CBR 650 F. I Intend to keep the bike with me for about 10 years ( or even more). I will be riding around 3000 to 4000 km a year ( May be even less ) . My height is 6 ft and weigh 110 Kg . Broad built. It won't be used so much for commutation ( I am Chartered Accountant and it doesn't fit my profile to ride to income Tax offices and clients on a bike ) as for fortnight fun rides. Last bike i owned was when i was still a student back in 2010 ( HeroHonda Karizma).My Budget is around 7.5 L. What do you recommend ? Or is there anything else i should be considering . Please answer.

Don't know why.... but whenever I think about a 600-750 cc class bike, my heart beats Daytona...Daytona...Daytona. Seeing your video, it does 200+ with ease. Good bike. First faired inline 4 cylinder bike but still close to 9 lacs OTR is a bit expensive *sob sob* But I'm sure it will put a smile to anyone's face, especially with the wonderful ergonomics which suits our roads. Daytona is just an untamed beast. If one's finances allow, this bike is definitely a good investement. No doubt.

Sagar, PD team. Hows the windblast effect on the Z800 compared to the CBR 650F?. I mean will the Z 800 be uncomfortable post 140 because of no fairing/windscreen compared to the 650F?

how abt the street triple, the younger sibling of the speed triple! its got those looks, which obviously cn be subjective, bt with the kind of all round package as it is, might give the other bikes in this range a run for their money i suppose!
