2016 10th gen turbo 1.5L Civic stock 0-60 acceleration comparisons for CVT D mode, S mode, and L mode. D mode is about a 1/10 of a second faster after doing two tests each mode. S mode is a little more responsive and simulates gear shifts. L mode is torquier and maintains the RPMs.

I start in D and switch to L before the car simulates the first shift. That seems to be the quickest way for me.

@@Has7DCT the cvt has been one of Honda’s more reliable automatics. It’s not bad but it’s not good if that makes sense. It’s slow to respond, starts making noise if it gets upset, it’ll become unresponsive. But mine has been through nearly 40k miles of abuse and my trans is still kicking. I just change the fluid every 10k miles. It’s been helping keep the trans a little happier.

@@evanwinters677 sadly other parts of the transmission have failed. In reality, the cvt isn’t meant for that kind of abuse. It held up far better than many other offerings, I’m talking about you Nissan, but it has since been traded in due to other issues with it.

I've noticed drive mode is a lot torquier than sport mode I can actually feel the car acceleration I'm drive vs sport.

Yea, drive mode keeps rpm’s lower where the torque is while sport mode revs out higher.

1.5L engine is the turbo version. I use 87 octane for stock. When it is tuned, It uses 91 octane with K tuner.

Yea it really is around 8 seconds stock. Try a tune like K Tuner, makes a big difference.

If you take the mufflers off the 1.5 liter turbo and the stick resonator or put performance non restrictive resonator it will be faster than 0-60 6.8 secs

This may sound like a silly question, but how do I switch from drive to sport on the Honda Civic? Long story short, I had a 2017 Toyota Corolla and would just slide the stick to the left to switch the car from drive to sport. The Honda Civic stick is completely different and I don’t know how to switch. How do I witch it from drive to sport mode as I am driving around? Is that possible or do I need to completely stop the car and then switch to sport mode?

Why didn't you brake torque it?? It's turbocharged so you need to do that to build up boost to get the best results

No brake torque launch because the tires end up spinning. Tried to keep it consistent across all runs.

3 perfect and consistent launches with the right amount of throttle in 3 different drive modes is not easy to do while filming. This method worked best for me. Good suggestion though. The point of the video was to compare the different driving modes, not to beat any 0-60 records.

It’s tuned, but when set to ECO mode it reverts to stock boost levels. I say stock because it technically is when in ECO mode, but boost is turned up to 23 psi when Eco mode is off. Perks of having the K Tuner dual map tune.

What gas do you use? I bought a 2016 civic touring which has the 1.5l turbo but don’t know which gas to use. Been using 91 but don’t know if that’s needed. I have sport mode but it’s not a button. You pull the gear down one from D to S

I use 91 octane for my stage 2 tune. If you’re stock you can use 87 octane.
