Just tried to replace my fiancés Hyundai Santa Fe’s door check and figured out during the process I would have had to disassemble the entire goddamn door to replace it. I looked up how to replace my Civics door check for shits and giggles and am blown away at how simple it is and should be on all cars….. She can be careful when opening her door and a Honda or Toyota is in her future. Nothing better than Japanese engineering.

I had the female end, or the hole/bolt inside the pillar, seemed to separate from the frame (back door). The bolt is screwed into the female end and stops the door from swinging open, but it moves around and wont tighten to the pillar. Is there anyway to fix this? Sorry for the poor description.

Is the front and rear door check parts the same including the procedures?

Honda lists a different part number for front and rear. The procedure will be almost identical.

Can removing the door panel damage the door and electronics?

Not really. It would be very difficult to damage something. The only electronics you have to deal with is the window switch panel and it is easily removed
