@SteveWoods798 жыл бұрын
in a straight line maybe, cornering isn't exactly its strong point.... great for motorway pursuits but not so much around the streets.
@roversnolan18 жыл бұрын
to be fair they did a pretty good job of following it. The police will always be at a disadvantage in a pursuit considering that they have to take more caution at junctions. I think the cars straight line speed and acceleration kept them in it. It's the same with with big old 5 series BMWs that they use. Plenty of power on the open road but for pursuits in urban areas they will struggle. That's where the Subarus, evos, Audi S3 and focus ST come in handy.
@terry1411867 жыл бұрын
I would say it because the civic has the advantage of independant rear suspension but so does the vectra. Its plainly because honda know how to set up a chassis and vauxhall haven't got a scooby doo.

It's not like a Civic Type-R is a super car, motorbike or anything with some serious acceleration, 1.8 with a good driver can keep up with a chav who thinks he's a good driver in type-r down street roads no problem. The Police drive with care of other road users and try and keep within the correct lane at junctions, also they don't keep so close to not panic the driver into creating a catastrophe, that is the only reason they're not up their ass.

Most people around the world are right handed that means your strongest hand is the right.. with cars on left side of road the driver is on the right which means right strongest hand is on wheel at all times while left hand, the weaker hand is just used for changing gears and having two hands on the wheel. So I pity Americans having to use their left hand as the main hand on the wheel.. and american football which doesn't use much feet, and hamburgers which has no ham in it... saying erbs, not herbs.. paying for overpriced health care for life or death sutuations or just even giving birth. The Police driver did really well to somewhat keep up, especially if he was in a large Vauxhall. The Honda will handle accelerate and brake far superior to the heavier Police car. The Police also have other things to consider that will slow him down a bit, like directions and public safety. The bad guy should have known or had a plan where he was going and ditched the car far sooner. The longer the car chase is on, the more Police get involved, the more offences you're likely to rack up and the more chance of getting caught or killing someone.

You'll get into trouble with cops for going over the limit and yet doing over 80mph on those back roads is outrageously dangerous. He's pushing some guy in a stolen car who just wants to stay out of jail and he will do whatever it takes regardless of the risk to life. That looked like a situation where the cop was just so fixated in getting this guy that he was going to stop at nothing. I understand his frustration but better to call the chase off at those speeds. The cop car will also have ended up damaged. All paid by the tax payer.

Yeah, let´s just let people steal cars and don´t give a shit about it. There was no danger here and the Police officers knew what they did.
@sukhmaidickoff8 жыл бұрын
***** I just don´t agree. Sorry. I don´t see how they are risking many peoples lives here. People can hear the siren of the police car miles away and the Police is not taking any chances. You can´t hunt them down at safe speeds if you lose sight of them.
@richardflood30587 жыл бұрын
The police had his sirens on though, if you hear sirens you don't go on the road simple as

in all honesty the police car should have fallen back when the driver was going at those types of speed in a residential area, i think he met have gotten red vision. good driver but very dangerous, they had the plate number so why risk it.
@michaelkennedy85738 жыл бұрын
What good is the plate if the vehicle is stolen?
@user237248 жыл бұрын
Definitely 87mph in a residential area is not worth it for a stolen car.
@user237248 жыл бұрын
Plate is good enough if they don't swap it, ANPR cameras can pick it up. If they do swap the plates, police in the area can just keep looking for the car based on it's description.
@michaelkennedy85738 жыл бұрын
Then you'd hide the car in a safe location, strip the car and sell the parts and the thieves never identified
@debroski28 жыл бұрын
at the end of the day the officer driving in my opinion had what they term as red mist, he was determined to catch the car no matter what when really once speeds exceeded 60 he should have pulled back to stop himself and the driver of the stolen car causing an accident.

The police are here to protect us and our property, it's either they let him drive around like a maniac for ever in somebody's stolen car or the try and stop it and use very loud and bright warning sirens and lights.

No wish to have a dig at guys doing their job, but speeds approaching nearly 100 mph in an urban area is highly questionable.

I was once in a cop chase in Birmingham. 3 people on board. when I knew the copper was on to me, I dropped a passenger and drove off, the copper slowed down but my mate ran away giving me about 10 15 seconds headstart. The copper had no chance. Next time if you have passengers drop them off and that way the car is lighter and the cops will get confused as to why he got dropped off giving you enough time to dissappear...
@allothernamesbutthis8 жыл бұрын
the police driver should be reprimanded too. 88 in a 30, 50 over speed humps, not stopping at crossways, he is a danger to the public.
@Fullersh1t8 жыл бұрын
You're an idiot, he has his lights on and slowed down considerably to allow other traffic to slow.
@allothernamesbutthis8 жыл бұрын
So you agree with police driving at 88 in residential areas over a car probably worth 5k? How much damage was done to police car hitting speed humps at 50?
@Fullersh1t8 жыл бұрын
firstly they are trained professionals. That Honda needed stopping, the value of car has nothing to do with it. if police never pursued cars it would be a free for all. if it was 15.15 I'd admit it was reckless, but public were not at risk. And I doubt much damage those speed humps are those shitty ones that are too narrow and can be missed mostly.
@MC-my1vc7 жыл бұрын
These so-called "professionals" still make mistakes, as have race drivers who've been around a circuit hundreds of times. At over 40 metres per second, even if you have sirens and lights on, it's not going to prevent a collision and then you have to think about people being distracted as they're listening to the radio, using handsfree devices, or perhaps they've got problems with their eyesight and/ or hearing...

they get full service including new parts every week? there one of the best types of cars to buy if you want it to last there well looked after
@Lix1986068 жыл бұрын
what new parts do they get each week? they are still hammered and if you buy one the engine and gearbox will unlikely be anywhere near new. Not a good purchase
@aaronditchfield7818 жыл бұрын
what ever part is damaged is new if the engine is shagged or under performing its a new one if the paints scuffed its new if the donut holders broke its a new one. your paying for this btw as if you didn't know
@Lix1986068 жыл бұрын
So why does that make them the best car to buy?
@dandanthesaxoman8 жыл бұрын
You don't buy one that's obviously been a pursuit car, you try and get one that's been used in the higher ranks like a surveillance one or one that's just been used to transport officers I have an octavia vrs that was undercover, black with black tints it was about 1500 quid cheaper than it should be and it's a lot cleaner than examples 1500 quid above that price also it has the full police service history which is a nice read
@YodaOnDMT8 жыл бұрын
Pretty slick driving there. Well done Honda even though you ruined the entire Type R range.
