My nineteen ninety six honda civic Has the fan wired with a switch. It overheats when it's really hot in the summer days. When do I know when I have to turn on the fan switch?

having the fan on all the time doesnt do any harm at all. just keep it turned on whenever you're in traffic or in hot days. you dont really have to turn it off, but if you want you can turn it off when its not hot outside and you're cruising
