I used a small piece of hose that fit over the tip. It held on great while I threaded the pcv valve in. Then I just pull it off. It's the same technique you use for troublesome spark plug installs.

By the way, any reason why you had to change the PCV valve? My long time mechanic who only does Honda Acura says "they never go bad!" I'm trying to diagnose oil leak/burn off (already replaced the Valve cover gasket and leak test after back negative, and changed failing vtec part) and thinking of changing the PCV valve on my 2006 myself and maybe PCV hose because I'm still using up oil, and I could still smell oil burn once in a while. I fit pretty well. Depending on how long your lower body is compared to your upper body is really what it comes down to. If you got longer legs than you do torso and you're my height or above I wouldn't recommend the Honda CRV.
