Question. In CA the lead weights that used to go on the outside of the wheel have been illegal for years so they use the sticker weights inside the wheel. I noticed these wheels had the sticker weights in them and you added the outside weights too. Do they need both? Or could you remove the old sticker weights and just add heavier outer lead weights. Just curious, thanks for the videos bud.

When balancing a tire/wheel, the balancer will measure where you need to add weight to the outside and inside of the wheel to balance. I'd say standard for most people is clip weights on the inside of the wheel, and sticker weights on the outside of the wheel. (Inside referring to the "backside" lip or barrel of the wheel, outside referring to the "Face" of the wheel in the barrel or lip for clips). There is instances where you would prefer using just stick weight, or just clip weights on both in/out. Lots of places the lead weights are illegal, and they have been instead replaced with, for atleast where we get our weights, steel ones.

Yo TE question So when checking for balance on all 4 wheels it’s not necessary to remove the sticky and clip on weighs just put them on the balancing machine with the weights already on there and check to see if they’re balanced or not if so then it’s fine if not do you add the extra sticky or clip on weight on with the old weights or do you remove the old sticky or clip on weight and add the new one in the same spot you took the old one out and then check the balance? And also does it matter where you put the wheels back on when you take all 4 of them out do I have to mark them so I remember where it goes ?

⁠​⁠@@turbro7185It’s best to put the wheels back in the position where you took them off from. This is done to stay in the tire rotation routine for optimal tire wear and life. When balancing out of balance wheels it’s best to strip the weights and start from nothing. Main reason to do so is to prevent the weights from working against each other, second reason is so you’re not leaving more work for yourself or another tech when it comes back next time.

Regardless, these 10th gen civics AC compressor, evap and condensers are joke. The evap should also have a 10 year extended warranty. Too bad Honda won’t bc you have to tear the whole dash apart and that would cost them too much money…
