You’re that MAN Lorry, so patient and skilled, it’s hard to film & demonstrate the installation. As soon as my AT arrives to the US I will take delivery of it and get my lower combo. Luckily I live in VA where you have distributor!

53 and a half minutes of a well thought through "home" installation. Perfect for all of us 'do it yourselfers'. Thank you for all of the tips and tricks included with the video and not rushing through the installation. Along with the quality of the product, this just made my choice of crash bars a no brainer. I will be purchasing a full set for my 2018 ATAS.

Very well done folks. These bars are SOLID. Extremely methodical and measured video and at a pace that allowed frequent pauses and chances to reinitiate patience. Couple hours from start to finish. Have to admit, the spacers on the crossbar were a tad frustrating but eventually everything settled into place. The only step I skipped was the last, temperature is hitting records in Portland today and tomorrow with 111 and 115 degrees. Staying rubber side down in garage mode for next couple days, then Mt Hood loop will call for the 100 mile shake down test. Thanks for the professionalism.

Nice to see this up to go along with an awesome product. When i first got my kit it took me a really long time. One thing i would point out is that all my outback bolts have rusted. It would be a nice upgrade to have some stainless steel ones.

Have the CRASH BAR and Bash plate combo on my AT. Saved my bike many times. 👍 Great product.

To hold a spacer on the back of a plate / crashbar, simply use a tiny amount of superglue and glue the spacer to the back. You can still easily knock off the spacer if you want but the superglue (CA) will hold the spacer on and it won't drop down into someplace you don't want it.

@@thunderfromsea The "trick" is something I picked up a number of years ago. Formula 1 cars used it for wheel nuts when they had them. They'd superglue the nuts to the wheel, then place the wheel on the car and used the pneumatic wrench to spin the nuts on.

In this video, you mention the OEM bracket on ATAS model and that the top bolt doesn’t have to be removed (@15:00 or so). Well sir, the OEM bracket is attached to the top bolt. Without removing that bolt the OEM bracket won’t come out. Also on 2019 ATAS model the OEM bracket has a lip and your center mount plate is not wide enough to go over the OEM bracket towards the back to install it with the larger 10mm bolt. The top bolt has to be removed. Check the 2019 ATAS model and see what I am talking about.

Mohsin Khan It’s been all clear to us since we’ve been suggesting this to customers since 2017. You must have misunderstood the message. Yes, the bracket which holds the OEM “Crash” bars must be removed...

What is the clerance between lover bar end and the brake / gear lever pedal - is there enough room to avoid potential rubbig when eearing adv boot i.e..? I lust live you did not god for the roll cage model that covers the nose of the bike as I think it is just redundant weigth.

We left as much room as possible. A few thousands of customers have been satisfied with it, thus I think you'd be as well.

I just installed your uppers on my AT. Good stuff. I understand you don't guarantee any aftermarket headers fitting, but have you had customer report results with any brand of aftermarket headers fitting?

ftwayneaustin thanks for your comment. We’ve been told that Akrapovic and Termignoni headers fit but the position of the oxygen sensor may have some interference with our engine guards rear tab.

@@Outbackmotortek Awesome! I removed the lower engine bars due to the Black Dog Cycle Works skid plate not fitting with them. The crash bars seem solid though!

Coolant lines look like they will chafe on the front bolts holding the main bracket. Anyone or any reports of issues with that?

Excellent video instructions. But I have one problem on '19 DCT. In video (16:13), plastic cover on DCT shift motor interferes with crashbar near clamped end. Installation only possible with plastic cover removed. Is there a new cover or different bar?

You can simply remove the plastic cover and leave it off for good or cut a chunk out of it and reinstall it

Where were you last month when I had 3 different manuals and assorted nuts and bolts to try and tighten behind the already installed crashbars! ;)

Just got these, the welder musta been in a hurry because the engine case guard bottom bracket on the right side was 1/8 inch welded to far to the front and hits the engine case. Have to slot the holes and mill the bracket for the engine case. Looks to me if it's in a crash, it's either gunna punch a hole in the engine case or take out the O2 sensor because the 2 slots in the bracket are barely in to fasten it, it's that far off. For the most part otherwise, not bad. But fabricated that far off, I'm definitely painting over the advertising tags on the bars and throwing the stickers in the trash.

For such a quality product and detailed video, why would you hand hold the camera? It makes a very informative video look cheap and is annoying to watch. Come on OM get a tri-pod and redo the video with a quality professional finish

We have tripods, gimbals, cameras, microphones and so on. Sometimes we have to get the camera in tight spaces to capture an important step and only a smart phone can fit in. Sorry.

as much as I want the info to install the crash bars, this feels like poking a hot iron into my eyes for about 50min... I know you can do better, this should be a whole of 10-15min long not an hour. It's legitimately hard to watch. I don't know you asked for random info like exactly what tools you need, if you don't know how to use a ratchet it's likely you cannot succeed at the job. PLEASE make a video that is just the steps of what to do expecting that your audience is not mentally handicapped... this is the nicest way I can say this... I am sure a lot of people have more scathing words for this.
