Even bicycle riding in forest trails becomes more and more restricted. Just recently found a great trail where I rode a bicycle. A week later there was a sign installed just at the beginning: "Private land, no trespassing, video surveillance". Such signs are popping up everywhere. Finally a 300 review that looks right to me. I got the 1st gen 250L,so tiny bit "harder" suspension then 2nd gen bikes and at 75kg I run stock suspension setup and its just fine. This suspension stuff I see on 300 vids around to me looks better then 2nd gen bikes, and less "harsh" (talking small differances here) damping wise then 1st gen, so just spot on if you ain't racing it. Ofc racetech ohlins wilbers etc will be better,but most wont need it. Also what you wrote about power and torque being lower down. Again, when 2nd gen came out there were complaints that power band went up that engine is the same like cb300. 1st gen had less power but it was down. Taking into consideration that they said they rearanged where power is for this motor, the changed gearbox thats lower for 1-3 gears, and general power and torque increase, it needs to be noticable unlike some say. Not gonna be crazy fast now but definitely needs to be noticable in the ballpark of having 13T front on older bike. Now I havent yet ridden the 300,but as 250 owner for 5 years you see some stuff through the video too. Thanks.

Great write-up! Am in Thailand and thinking of buying one of these but another reviewer was saying 'have to change the exhaust' 'have to change the suspension', 'have to change the handlebars' etc but from your review it seems like the only issue is the heat coming from the radiator fan. Is there a way to resolve that issue (I'm fairly news to bikes, have just been riding a 150 scooter around). Thanks
@lancea3 жыл бұрын
I would suggest that you ride it for a while before changing anything. I would not change the exhaust unless people report that it helps with the heat issue. Exhaust has a decent tone yet still pretty quiet. Handle bar looks like the same soft one they had on the 250L and would need to be replaced after the first fall.
@paulietv21623 жыл бұрын
@@lancea Thanks Lance, that sounds like great advice - I'll change things on an 'as needs' basis, including the tyres and handlebars. I'm not a serious off-road rider, I just don't see the point of paying 90,000 baht for a new 150 PCX or ADV scooter when I can pay an extra 50,000 to get one of these CRF300's.

The 450L has better suspension and quite a bit more power than the 300L, though nothing like competition enduro 450s. Main negative thing with the 450L is the constant flaming out when slowing down and rolling off the throttle. The 250L Rally is capable but under powered and needs to be ridden flat taps, like a 125 2stroke, there is no power down low.
