I took my 2017 CR-V to the dealer, and they repaired it at no charge. I was told it is subject to a recall that apparently isn’t being rolled out nationwide. The software wasn’t correct from the factory. The computer was replaced, new software installed, a couple of sensors were replaced, and engine oil was changed. All work was at no charge. So far, so good.

​@dgdeckard Interesting that they did the update for free. I went to the dealer last week & they charged me $400 for the update. All for it to start happening again a day later. I'm at the dealership now waiting for them to "make things right" now. But when got here they said "that update has an 85% success rate." SMH

If anyone is going crazy like I was. Tried this and a reboot through the infotainment center. Try opening the hood, fuse box and find the fuse for the ecu, leave it pulled for a few seconds and put it back in. Worked for me, hope it helps anyone else if this wont fix it

Nice job on the video! There appear to be multiple varieties of this “dashboard lights all on” issue. We have a 2018 CRV-XL bought Dec. 2017. During Covid, the car sat for weeks in the garage. Eventually, went to start it and nothing - dead battery. Dealer confirmed that this can happen with newer cars as their is always a load on the battery even when the car is off due to the computers/sensors that continue to run. That’s reassuring, isn’t it? Charged battery at home, started the car and, “Whoa!”, all the lights came on just as shown here. Carefully drove the car around the block a few times and indeed, all the systems came back online and the idiot lights and warnings all went away. However, today…… Wife is out and about, sitting in the car while it is running and in park. Dashboard turns into a Christmas tree. Called dealer and drove car there and it’s being checked. In the meantime, I read through a few blogs and there are many complaints on this but there doesn’t seem to be a root cause identified overall. “Fixes” (most of which did not last, so moved on to other items) include: Bad grounding screw connection to chassis - corroded, loose. Replaced all fuel injectors (tried fuel system cleaner added to gas, lasted 2-3 days before problem came back). Replaced ABS sensor. Replaced A/C system controller. Replaced car battery. And yes, even: Washed the car. Replaced key FOB battery! Will let you know what happens next. We are fortunate to have a dealer service advisor that is outstanding and have worked with him for more years than I can remember.

An update to previous post. Dealer states injectors need to be replaced per Honda - running rich. Went through a checklist of potential causes that I read up across many sites discussing this apparently growing issue. Third party extended warranty (only $1700!) that I begrudgingly purchased will cover injectors with $100 deductible. Dealer suggests a decarburization of the valves, plugs, etc (not chemical) for $350. Dealer checked with Honda corporate - will not cover anything under warranty. Gotta say, between the fuel in the oil issue and this issue, I’m having a difficult time imagining buying another Honda. All told, I believe we’ve purchased around 10 and convinced many others to buy Honda.

The telltale sign is when this happens it throws an engine code. Something like p0170 or p0192 I think. That causes all systems to go offline for safety. Clearing code and restarting car removed all dash warnings. It sounds like they are just throwing parts at it with no knowledge if it will actually fix it.

I tried EVERYTHING, my solution was taking off the front wheels and looking for a loose/ low hanging ABS censor. I found my practically sitting on my front left axle in my driver side wheel well. I noticed the censor and wires weren’t supposed to be sitting on the axle so I replugged in any wires that were loose from it dangling . Zip tied it back up in the air away from the axle and wheel well. Then once I put my tires 🛞 back on I did unplug my battery for 5 mins & then I did THIS reboot. BOOM car is back to normal!!!! Saved thousands by doing that trick myself

Holy cow, it works. You do have to press the brake pedal hard to activate the reset. I took it out for a spin prior watching this video but was light on brake and never worked.

Change the battery on my aunt’s CRV, today, lo and behold shows all the warning lights on the dash. Lucky, I found this on YT and sure enough I drove it for few miles and every warning disappears. Thanks for showing us the trick.

Glad for these comments. I tried most of them, and none of them worked alone, but after doing the brake compression, removing the fuse for a couple minutes and then doing the system reset I think it actually solved the problem. We’ll find out if it comes back or not. Fingers crossed.

My 2019 had the same issue, disconnect connectors under hood and reconnect , all that you can see. they may have been contaminated with water triggering and error code to computer. My car had 2 issues. The battery no longer held charge do to the alternator over charging battery eventually spraying battery liquid onto connectors under hood causing emission error codes check engine light. Battery cooked, did'nt last a year. 2nd battery since lease. 1. Disconnect all connectors and reconnect 2. Check that your battery is fully charged and holds charge, or buy a new battery. Walaaaaaaa, did'nt need the solution of replacing all 4 injectors which is ridiculous, quoted $1800 before tax. Problem Solved, thank you Jesus!

Same thing happens in by 2017 Civic EX-T. No one has been able to fix it. I keep a code reader in the car, and when the codes do appear (usually only when starting the engine cold, like after sitting overnight) I erase them with the reader. It usually takes 2-3 erasures, each time turning the car off and on (without starting). I've been using this technique for over 130,000 miles now. Other than this glitch the car has been problem free. I was told that the issue is an engine management software bug. I have a manual transmission, FYI.

I had this happened to me 3 weeks ago but it went away on its own within the day. Then now it happened again. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I bought the battery 2 years ago with Tripple AAA I have a 3 year warranty on it, I called them to check it, battery is all good 100% still good plus the alternator all good. My car is 2018 bought it 2 years ago with 24k it was a return lease. I maintain it to the T. I found your video 3 weeks ago did the reset it went away, but now it’s back again. I think it’s the fuse box possible. Let’s see. Took it to honda they said it was the battery but battery is good 🤦🏽‍♀️ car running great no issues

I've had this issue for the entire time owning my vehicle. They dealer told me its when the sensors get obstructed either by rain, water, snow, dirt, salt, or/and leaves. Usually, just shut it off, and it fors away, and I go o the car wash asap. But today was the first time it wouldn't shut off normally. We do have some serious rain and 40mph winds. But it almost feels like the vehicle doesn't realize I'm in Park.. I think due to the parking system is not working properly. Waiting on Honda service team to call me back. Will update here when I get an update.

So I have this same problem but all the lights come and go intermittently when driving . I got the car diagnosed and these were the trouble codes: 1. P0035 Turbocharger bypass control solenoid valve circuit high voltage. 2. P0443 EVAP Canister Purge Valve Circuit Malfunction. Trying to get this resolved and see the outcome.

Hi , thanks you, I have bought 9 months a go a Honda CR V 2005 2.2 CTDi Diesel RD 9. and Iove it. about 3 weeks a go the motor check turned on, the same time the right headlamp was dead. I had my car a mechanic and he diagnosierted with Diag set and it showed that the problem is glow plug, right then the motor check turned off and after three weeks newer turned on. I do not know it still needs to be replaced? However I think the motor shakes more, may be it is an emotional panic not a technical matter. My next question is the kind of OIL Motor it needs, as I bought it I changed the oil and there is a big dealer of Oil in Germany WM offered me 5W-40 Liqui Moli but I think it should be 5W -30,,is that right? Hi , My CRV keeps Popping all these Dash board alerts even after reboot/restart. Not only alerts, CRV steering becomes very hard to turn. Dealer asked to replace the electric power steering rack as they found multiple codes in EPS system. can replacement works fine ? Please suggest ?

What I do with this issue is reset the computer, then clean both battery post. After I do those 2 things I just drive for alittle bit and all the lights turn off. Unfortunately this happen twice within the span of 9 months hopefully this helps someone because the first time I was panicking lol

Great! That's part of your Maintenance Minder system, and a B code means replace the engine oil and oil filter. Perform front and rear brake cleaning and lubrication. Adjust parking brake. Perform in-depth inspection of the brake components. A subcode 7 means replace brake fluid. If you take care of these items yourself, most OBDII code readers can reset the Minder system. My 2018 1.5 have all warnings light too. Tried a few cycles and its doesn't work. It's happened after my plastic PCV valves broke and have to unplug couple hoses and one electronic plug behind the pcv. I finally managed to remove the broken pcv valves. Now I am having trouble with all this warnings signs. I my have to reset the systems.

I have a 2019, bought it in December. About a month ago the lights came on one night then off. Couple days later they came on again. I pumped the breaks hard about five times, lights out! Today they came back on so I pumped the breaks parked. And they are off. A friend ran the diagnostic test on it I had some codes come up. Car runs well. What do you think?

Our standard procedure is to first try to clear all of the codes. If they'll clear, then drive it and then when the lights come back on see what codes actually get reset. Those are most likely legit codes. It might not be ok, but the lights will come back on if its a true error. If you are concerned, I agree with you on a dealer trip. Having them diagnose will definitely give you piece of mind. This problem is often due to a dead battery, but if you didnt have that its possible to be other issues. did you have a dead battery? When it started, what happened just prior to that? It can certainly be very concerning seeing all those warning lights.
