Honda CT 125 Tire Test Gone Wrong

I did a tire test of the three different types of tires I have for my Honda CT125. This is my honest opinion on which tire might be best for different applications. I then took my bike for a short spin on a Wet Grass Track and this happened. You have to watch till the end to see it and also, I'm doing a sprocket give-away on my next video and this one explains it to you.....

Extremely informative and I loved the teaser released prior to the actual "show" itself. Your orchard really looks fun to play in, especially for a old, young at heart adult. Hope your rib(s) heal quickly. Thanks for another wonderful video.

The ribs fine Daniel, it just hurts when I laugh, cough or fart. You need to come out some time and we can zip through the Orchard. It's been raining so much I really wanted to do a little cornering and with the amount of rain we've had, the grass was really slick. That rear tire hooked up while I was leaned over and lifted the front tire off the ground which just drove my body into the dirt. No time to even put my foot or hand down to stop me from digging up some dirt with my left side...... That bike just has way to much power...... Oh yea, it's not going to stop me from riding, so when you want to go back up to the trails, let me know, I'm ready.........

I've gone to a Kawasaki Versys X300 because the CT 125 could'nt climb the hills here fast enough on roads ... too many tail-gaters. I can only afford 1 bike. So I'm 80% paved roads and 20% hard packed dirt trails. Still I love your channel and the review on the tires is very valuable to me. Thanks so much for taking the time to do your videos; they're great! I hope to someday make videos the way you do. (another old guy ... now 75 and still riding.)

I've not had a new ct125 but I've had 8 ct90s and 2 1981 c70 passports(us supercubs) I loved the shinko 244 as a rear and the shinko 241 as a front usually a little smaller front tire to keep the speedometer reading correctly.
@TeamDNFracing
@TeamDNFracing 3 жыл бұрын
With the electronics on the bikes today, they incorporate to many items in reading what you want read. Simple speedo with a cable to the front wheel hub just isn't good enough today I guess. They want an electrical sensor on the counter shaft to read it's speed and then compare with the ABS sensor on the front tire and if they don't match, it may or may not shut off the ABS. I honestly believe the engineers who design this stuff have never ridden a bike before........ There was nothing wrong with the speedo cable to the front wheel hub....... Next thing you know, they will redesign the wheel.........Thanks for the comment.....

As for not editing out the fall, I felt like I would have been cheating my videos if I didn't put in the mishaps as well as the good riding.... We all fall sometimes, so I will always show them if I have the camera going when it happens. However, the fall did a little more to me than I originally thought, I must have broken the rib as I am still very sore in that area and just recently have gotten to where I can cough without crying like a baby.... J/K, I don't cry, I scream....... Should be ok in another month...... Thanks for the comment and more videos are on the way......

I'll be honest with you, milage was not a concern with me on the BBK. I was looking for some better torque and all around power delivery with this BBK. I achieved the power I wanted and as for milage, we have three bikes that got the BBK and only one of them kept up on his milage. You can go to his KZbin channel at: Daniel BP Chiang Mai and ask him directly what his milage is with the BBK. He has kept very accurate data on his milage since before and after he did the BBK. I'm not sure what he got before or after, but there was not a very big drop off on the milage. Go to his KZbin channel and ask him what his milage is and he'll be glad to answer you. Kenneth, thank you so much for your great comment. I have thought very much about whether or not to monetize the channel. Not so much for me, but for my subscribers who ask about and truly want some of the products available here, but not in the overseas markets. I thought if it was monetized then I could take the money from the channel and put it back to my subscribers by purchasing items they want and then have a give-away for them.... Only thing is, Charlie Hustle never popped a rib doing his slides. I wasn't kidding when I said it hurt. I need to explain what happened on that. I was in a good lean around that tree and I had just started to put my left foot back up on the footage when the rear tire got some awesome traction and actually lifted the front tire off the ground. Without my foot down for support, it just drove me right into the ground. It didn't knock the breath out of me, but my elbow was between my ribcage and the ground and being slightly fat, ok, to fat for doing this kind of thing.... Where was I? Oh yea, being so old and a little to fat, I'm not supposed to fall down like that and it popped one of my ribs. Trouble sleeping and trying not to cough is the part that I don't care for, but give me a month and it'll be so it doesn't hurt. Not going to stop me from riding though, just not going to be leaning in on the corners like that......... Thanks for the comment and definitely for watching all the way to the end.......

Hi Eddie, it’s Jerry in Tulsa Oklahoma. Was wondering if I could ask you a question about your USB port on your CT 125. You said that you wited yours up the same way that Some Guy Rides did on his CT 125, where you tap into the brown and yellow wire in the headlight holder. That wire is always hot on my bike. Should that be the case? I definitely don’t want USB port to be on all the time, and you said if it’s done that way, that it would only be hot when the bike is running. Is all this correct? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Ok Jerry, I've hooked my USB port up to the headlight wiring plug behind the headlight. There is a video out by a Thai rider, you won't be able to understand what he says, but watching the video will let you see what he did. This is the way I wired mine up, not by Some Guy Rides. He may have done his the way mine was done, but I followed the guy here in Thailand. You can watch the video: his KZbin name is 17.8tv. You can also look the video up by typing in CT125 USB Anyway, he disconnects the black wiring connector in the headlight housing. He then connects his hot wire for his USB port to the connector as such. There are three wires in the black connector, two side by side with one horizontal above them. He hooked up to the left side by side wire. I believe it is gray and black. If yours differ from this, get a hot wire tester and see which one comes on with the key switch. That is the one you want to use. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment.......

Since we got our bikes almost three years ago, we've been testing and trying out all sorts of modifications for the Honda CT 125. The tires have been a big issue for us here as to what grips best on both pavement and off road and what brand will last the longest. We found out early that the stock tires just won't do you much good off road, but actually work very well on pavement. As for anything else. Here in Thailand there are a multitude of motorcycle tire manufacturers here. We've tried the IRC, Vee Rubber, ND Rubber and Good Rubber brands and have settled that the Vee Rubber dual sport tread last the longest and gives very good traction both on pavement and off road. These tires are very similar to the Shinko brand that they us so much in the US. I've not been able to find them here in Thailand so I can't comment on how good they are. If you live in SE Asia, go with the Vee Rubber tire, you can't go wrong with them.....

Monetise your videos, they are good enough in my opinion! I cant believe you have made yourself a bike track in your property, awesome lol. These Bikes are over £4000 in the uk!

We've finally gotten the channel monetized and am saving up the add revenue from the channel to buy more video equipment. It would be cool to have a GoPro on each rider and be able to listen to what they have to say as well as be able to see what all of us see at the same time... It will be an editing nightmare for me, but should make even better videos......

I'm glad everyone is saying that, I really didn't want to do it as I hate the commercials popping up right in the middle of a good part of a video. But this is the only way I can pay back to those who have subscribed to and support my channel each week. I'm going to be putting the money from it right back into give-aways to those who have made my channel successful to me...... Thanks for the comment and I'll put your name in the drawing........

@@jcbrashe For my friends who have KZbin channels, that's what I do, when it comes on, I get up and get a beer, pop some popcorn. All sorts of things just to let it run for them..... I don't see my channel ever getting so big that it makes any real income, but if it allows me to purchase and send a few modification parts out every once in a while, it's worth it..... The killer on this is the shipping charges are through the roof........
