I didn't want a mc project. I bought a ct90 to ride.. it's turned into a mechanical course which I'm thoroughly enjoying. 😄

It's funny so many people chuck the battery last. I did the same but it should be the thing we test and chuck first with ct90s because it regulates. I just watched a video on swapping a coil on ct200 and he had to drop the engine... I'm assuming that's just a quirk of the older model. Either that or he didn't watch your video first 😆👍

I’m curious about which stator wire you grounded. It looks like the pink one but from the schematic it seems like the entire output would go to ground and burn up the stator. I have the exact same rectifier/regulator. I’m still blowing bulbs. Help! Haha

Yep, grounded the pink wire. Didn't seem to have any issues and put many hours on that setup without hurting the stator, and the new owner hasn't had any trouble either

12volt ??? Isn’t that to much ? Won’t that burn out your bulbs ???? 😮

Do you know if there is any info on how to check the coil to see if it is good or bad ,,,Can't find anything online

You need an ohm-meter to check for resistance between the small wire and the coil ground (metal part that bolts to the frame) and again check resistance between the spark plug lead and the coil ground. I dont have exact resistance specs on hand, but you certainly dont want to see an open or a dead short on either. On a CT70, which uses a similar ignition system, the small wire to ground should be 9-11 ohms, and spark plug lead to ground should be somewhere around 10,000 ohms. Obvs thats a different bike but atleast gives a rough idea of what to look for.

What year is that bike?

I sold it a while ago, but it was either an 80 or an 82. Can't remember exactly
