As a professional car mechanic, you had all the fancy hydraulic lifts and pneumatic tools and specialty items you needed. You've adapted nicely to not having them, but you must miss them occasionally. Have you thought of buying some of those specialty tools in Thailand?
@TeamDNFracing4 жыл бұрын
I even had my own shop for 5 years, but after that, I really was tired of working on peoples vehicles and just worked on my stuff and my sons vehicles so he knew how to fix his own stuff. Later, we started our race team and I was the one and only mechanic on it. After we decided to give up the racing, I made the move to Thailand a few years later, don't miss all those tools and equipment. If I had them, I'd have to get down on my knees more often to work on things and my knees just can't take that anymore. So, no, I don't want to buy any more than I've already got..... At least for right now.......

@@TeamDNFracing - OK, but let these 2 sugar plums dance in your head: 1) thick pads of polystyrene closed cell foam to kneel on, and 2) an electric power lift to raise your bikes so you can work on them while standing up or sitting on a stool. The foam pads I picked up at a local foam shop, and they make kneeling much easier on the knees. A nearby chair is also handy to push down on as you get up, and you can put stuff on them instead of on the floor. The power lift I still dream about, but they're probably sold in Thailand cheaper than here in the U.S.!

Yes you could, just need a few tools and a center stand, which I took off for ground clearance. Use the hi way stock sprocket for the hi way and then change to the 13T for the hills. Big Bore kit saved that for me, got plenty of power now for the hi way and more than enough for the mountain steep hills.......

Did you get the different sprockets from the local Honda dealer?
@TeamDNFracing2 жыл бұрын
No, I did not. We've got so many local Honda dealers here in Chiang Mai that none of them seem to want to stock things for their bikes. However, there are so many aftermarket shops in Chiang Mai that you can find most anything from them that you want for your CT. I actually bought several different sizes of countershaft sprockets and rear sprockets off of an online shopping network here in SE Asia called Shopee.co.th and there are multiple sprocket manufacturers that list sprockets on there. These sprockets I bought are actually for a Honda Wave 125i. I'd check with your local Honda dealer and see if they can get sprockets for the Honda Wave 125i to put on your CT. Honda use the same designed hubs on most of their small bore scooters and small bore bikes. Hope this helps......

Eddie, would you do me a favor? Take the two screws out of your headlight and check the bucket for the accessory plug. Should be a blue plug that's capped, so you can plug in a power charger, or heated grips, etc. We got cheated in the US I think. There is no capped blue plug inside our headlight bucket. But some Thailand videos show it being used (but not in English).
@TeamDNFracing4 жыл бұрын
I don't remember seeing the blue plug in my headlight either when I installed the USB charger. The next time I'm working on the bike, I'll take it off, but there is a lot more to it on my bike than just those two screws now, I have brackets attached to it that are in the way.......But I will do it because I want to make sure an easier way wasn't missed by me.......

@TeamDNFracing4 жыл бұрын
Pretty sturdy for a little wooden stool. Kind of reminds me of a milking stool only shorter. These are sold all over Thailand and the rural women seem to use them a lot to do cooking preparations. I believe with the short legs, it makes this stool really sturdy. I will probably have the guy down the street from me make me a tilt up stand out of metal to lift my bike up off the ground, might last longer than the little stool......

How has your OEM non-Oring chain been faring? Do you see any reason to change to a sealed chain?
@TeamDNFracing4 жыл бұрын
It's been working fine on my bike. I keep my equipment clean and I do service on everything often. Never over tighten your chain, that is the easiest way to stretch it which ruins sprockets also. I'm up to 1,500 Kilometers on it now and when it comes time to put on a new one, I'll go with a good quality chain, but not an O'Ring chain. No need to, I don't run in the dirt that much.......
@thomasempacher93374 жыл бұрын
A new chain is less than ten dollars in Thailand. That's for an OEM chain. It's cheaper than buying a can of chain lube.

Ernest, that rumor is someones rendering with a photo shopped picture as a joke. It got all kinds of people stirred up thinking they were going to produce that bike. Here in Thailand where the bike is now made, there is no mentioning of changing the bike any time soon. Honda usually won't make major changes to a lineup unless they can see it increasing sales. As of now, they are still trying to catch up with demand so I can't see them putting out a CT150 until the sales of the CT 125 start to drop off.......

The bike does come stock with the 14T. All three of us (me and the guys I ride with) run the stock 14T front sprocket but we have all gone to the 42T from the 39T rear sprocket. For some reason, if you change out the rear sprocket, it doesn't seem to mess with the ABS system near as much as changing the front sprocket...... Thanks for the comment.....
