Thank you!!! I couldn't get my idle right and every time mine revved high like that I turned the air back down thinking it was bad when I should have turned down the throttle instead. I get it now! I think my recently revived 77' might actually get to go on its first ride in 40+ years thanks to this video!

It always baffles me when people say they would rather have a carbed bike. "It's simple to repair and maintain." Meanwhile, the EFI bike starts right away and rides away lol. For context, I'm in my mid 40's and a heavy duty mechanic and I fix and repair motorcycles and dirt bikes for fun. Been doin it since I was a kid.

EFI you don’t even need a tuning video unless you’re trying to balance them! Daily riding, definitely easy! Thanks for watching!

Very helpful video..thx.. You mentioned a full throttle adjustment technique at the beginning of the video but all I picked out was idle and mid-range adjustment technique..?
@ReMotorcycle3 ай бұрын
I just rewatched it and didn’t catch where I said full throttle. Needless to say position controls mixture to about 3/4 throttle. To answer your question though, the main jet controls mixture wide open. Plug condition will tell you rich/lean. Make sure you test with the factory air cleaner in place. You’ll be lean without it.

Great video, need some advice, I have a 75 ST 90, stumbles from idle but runs well. When it comes off of WOT it also will sputter. I am thinking I need to lean it out with the throttle valve. All problems go away when I pull out the high altitude knob. Thanks.

So you definitely have a rich condition that resolves with the alt. valve. I’d say jet down but if you don’t have jets try lowering the needle. I’d want to know how much you are coming ‘off wot’. 100-90%??…Jet issue. 100-50%???….needle.

Lowered the needle, bike is now perfect, no stumble and sputter. Appreciate the help.

My 90 seems to be running rich even though the clip is at the top of the needle. Is there any way to lean it out more?
@ReMotorcycle3 ай бұрын
It might be the wrong needle if you’re not the original owner and know the history. It might have an air restriction if the filter is really old or over oiled. It might be the wrong main jet that’s so big it’s effecting mid throttle. 🤷🏻♂️

True story. You have four screws holding the bowl on? I’m pretty sure you’ve got the better one. Newer is almost always better tech. Thanks for watching!
@boathemian76945 ай бұрын
@@ReMotorcycle No mine has two screws on the bowl. There’s a mixture screw near the intake manifold and the idle screw which doesn’t change the idle speed at all
