Okay so Since I've done this Video, the Honda e Community have come at me with some Wicked Findings!! + There is a touch sensitive strip on top of the front door handles which locks the car without you having to use the remote locking function on the keys. + There is a small button on the right of the boot door release which also allows you to lock the car after closing the boot - it's located to the right hand side. + If you Unlock the car and then press and hold the unclock button further, the car will start winding down all four windows. + If you lock the car and then press and hold the lock button further, the car will start winding up the windows to seal em' shut. Thanks to they guys on the Facebook Groups that pointed this out to me !! hahah If you have anymore tips for me, feel free to comment so that I can add them to this pinned comment!

If it’s a touch lock button on the handle, can you touch and hold to close the open windows as well?

I want to say it has an option buried in the settings to turn on auto lock on walk away. I had to find that in my 2018 Honda Clarity settings in the menu and turn it on, and I NEVER touch my key fob because of it, great amazing lazy feature lol. I want to say it should be the same software. What I do wish my Honda Clarity had was that auto turn on feature when you get in. That is pure awesomeness.

The door opens with the first pull. Just with every other handle you have to touch it first to unlock. In this case from below.

Thanks for the update. How was/is the reliability? Any out of pocket for electrical repairs? Ball joints ? Suspension issues? Does the charging cable lock to the car and charger or can someone just walk by and disconnect your car from the charger causing mischief? How expensive are tires? Any squeeks or rattles now that you've made 36k miles?
@TechJamo2 жыл бұрын
Only repair I forgot to mention cost me £60 and that was because one of my rear seat passengers managed to step on a USB socket whilst it was inserted in the Rear USB HUB. The fix was literally 5 mins, but I had to wait for the part to arrive. They literally took out the old broken USB hub and slid another USB hub in lol. No one can disconnect the charger from your car, however, most chargers have an emergency stop function in case of fire! Someone could potentially walk up to your charger and stop it i guess. At least the car would notify you as soon as it has stopped charging though! The first time I got tyres, I went to buy some branded versions which cost me north of £110 per tyre. This time I just went to a casual on street tyre shop who said they will charge me £65 for some brand new 'economy' tyres. The £110 tyres have done 24k miles so far, so lets see how much the front 'economy' tyres will do. No dodgy noises so far though!! The new tyres I put on are a bit squeeky if I turn whilst stationary, but thats about it ahaha...

Hey Jamo, great vid in 2024. As ive learned that theyre stopping sales of the honda e, and theyre coming down in price. Would you recommend me getting one? I like the thing but range in winter does worty me a bit. And does the news of it coming to end affect your future services, warranty, parts updates etc? Have they said anything about this? Thanks

Nice video. I've had the E Standard for about 2 months. The 360 camera does not come with the Standard. Also, you need to learn how to open the car properly. There is a sensor inside the door handle, when you touch it it will unlock. For locking you need to press the three lines that are on the door handle. If it doesn't work then you can bring it to Honda for a warranty repair.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think any non-American cars will auto lock when you leave. I think that’s a good thing for safety. I also believe f.ex Mercedes still doesn’t auto-adjust your seats between keys, you’ll have to hold a button until it’s done. Also with safety in mind.

@TechJamo which one do you recommend? ZOE or the E. I can buy a 2020 Honda E advance with 45000km for €15k. I live in Sweden with cold winters around-15 to -20 degrees Celsius. Thanks for a great review.

Honda should've invested in the auto window feature with the key fob instead of the paddle shifters on a car with one gear.

Complete flop , production closed (easy to understand)another EV LEMON , cost honda about 200,000 pounds a car after selling WORLD wide a pathetic amount of 12000 units in just over 3 years. Body design done by a budding 5yr old . If you have sold yours and if you didn't lease it has lost £ wise 80% since new 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

Tyres wear so quickly on this car and General and Hankook who have the best EV tyres don't make Honda e sizes. My front tyres are on 2nd set already and those are also busted. Not as bad as yours though🤣 Very upsetting because the rest of the tyres are in a 5mm depth and the sides are smooth. What a waste of tyres
