It is nice though that Mat actually criticized the car when it is clearly flawed. Almost every review I see of this car is just telling us how cute and great it is, without just flat out saying that is is not worth the price for the range, the poor infotainment and the fact that is is just way too impractical. This is generally the case with EV-only channels. Those tend to praise almost every car they review.

Neel Javia right about we’ll you started it. Electric cars use lithium iron batteries dug out from Canada, therefore is a resource that we’re running out of therefore not saving the environment. Also by the time those batteries are in the car and travelled across the world and the body parts have come from China purpose of the car is pointless.
@ridgefrost4 жыл бұрын
@Neel Javia if u thnk abt it, not much is really value for money more of how interesting it is to you...some pple say spending 40grand on a car is alot but casually spend 200/300dollars twice/three times a day on a set of tires to drift with a racing vehicle purchased separately with 10k worth of mods on top...so value for money is often jus an excuse fr somethn that isnt interesting enough to u

That would be fine if it wasn't nearly £30k. Let’s all just admit that none of us actually watch mat review cars because we wanna buy a new car, but instead we all watch to entertain ourselves.😂😂😂

The same way we all watched Top Gear - nothing about wanting to buy the cars reviewed but because we enjoyed the three idiots presenting.

The interior of this car is STUNNING. The exterior is cool and quirky too. Price is also very affordable compared to the competition. Honda absolutely nailed this one.

@Android-vk8yh4 жыл бұрын
Ok Mat, I love this car and your dedication to get up early and go around London you should do this with more cars,when you went across the bridge the Honda actually came alive and it's eyes winking and looking at us have you also noticed as a little shape in the bottom corner to make it look like a tear duct, that's the Honda crying because i can't buy one if I could have thought one I would have one tomorrow. apparently has an Honda assistance so could you have asked for all the famous landmarks for the Honda Google Alexa thingy to give you a breakdown and description👍🤣 proved even in electric cars BMWs drivers are Cox, he was jealous because you look cooler than him 🤣

It's good that the brake lights come on with the regenerative braking effect.

Matthew Pilbrow Not sure all put the brake lights on on regen.
@matthewp90154 жыл бұрын
Clive Flint depends on the amount of regen/deacceleration. Most EV’s activate the brake lights: Tesla, i3, I.D3, Honda E, and Ionic/Kona when regen is set higher. I don’t think the Leaf does.

This would be a perfect second car for a middle class couple, for the school run and shopping. It would save money long term too...
@cameractive93164 жыл бұрын
No it wouldn't. Electric cars depreciate more significantly than the gasoline counterparts; if you want to sell it in future, you lose the money you have saved. And even if you do not consider selling it, 5-8 years later you need to pay a large sum to replace the battery.

@@cameractive9316 won't be long before all cars are electric
@Libertylute4 жыл бұрын
@@cameractive9316 Nonsense! Stop spreading false FUD! 1) There is a huge range in the depreciation rates of EVs. Some depreciate rapidly, but at least in the US the Tesla Model 3 does not depreciate at all over the first 3 years, and the Tesla Models S and X depreciate LESS rapidly than ICE cars. There is no way to predict the depreciation rate for the Honda e, because it has not been around long enough. Look at the sixth table on this page and the discussion of it: www.iseecars.com/cars-for-sale#section=studies&study=off-lease-car-deals&v=2020 2) The battery life in hybrids, like the Toyota Prius, may have been short for early adopters, but battery technology and maintenance software have advanced dramatically in the last few years. In a BEV bought today, the battery may last 8000 charge-discharge cycles. Even if abused, it should retain usable capacity after 4000 cycles ( i.e., more than 11 years if cycled once a day.). @@cdpendrill long?...try about 30 years long. There is not enough resources to replace ICE with EV vehicles currently. And that's just covers cars, scooters and bicycles. You forget the earth's biggest polluters, shipping, goods transport and air travel.
4 жыл бұрын
You forget that a newer model will cost the same and have much better range making this car hard to sell for good money ie massive depreciation. EV drivers only buy for the now factor as it will depreciate faster than a ICE car due to less range and battery life.

"Most EVs use large capacity batteries, but often, much of that capacity goes unused during city driving,” said Tomofumi Ichinose, chief engineer of the Honda e, told reporters earlier this week. “We question whether larger vehicles are appropriate for urban areas, and believe that smaller is a better option for cities.” www.reuters.com/article/us-honda-electric/honda-goes-small-with-first-all-electric-car-idUSKBN25N03Q

Even for a "City Car" the range is not enough IMO. Especially for the price. Because guess what. Sometimes you want to go further. And then you are basically forced to rent a car or go by public transport. And that(to me) defeats the purpose of having a car.
