All that bracket that they added does is prevent the trailing arm from falling out when the mounts rust out. They did NOTHING to mitigate the actual rust issue to start with. Part of the recall was that they were supposed to spray a shat bucket full of some rust preventative, like "Fluid Film" or something similar into those drain holes, but that's not a permanent fix at all.

Dude this video was amazing! I hope you're ok and didnt get tetanus, you havent posted in a while, cant wait to see your next element project 😎👍🏼

The TC recall is not in effect in all provinces. It does not apply to BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba as "heavy road salt usage" was not considered applicable in those provinces. Obviously, Honda minimized their Canadian obligation as a cost saving measure.

I read things over more and realized after I made this it only applies to 11k elements up north………

Would like to hear any stories about the trailing arm giving way at high speed. Does it usually happen that way, causing catastrophic injury or death, or does it usually happen when it is going slow or sitting? Somehow every failed balljoint I've ever had on a Honda has failed when I was going slow (

It took a bit but the second half of this video was very informative. And now I'm going to hyper fixate on my rockers and rear mounts 😅

How much did this repair cost you estimated??
@bisket20034 ай бұрын
Since I did this myself, I can cut out the cost of time and labor. The driver side donor pieces I bought pre cut from a scrapped E for $60, and this new passenger side rocker I cut from a yard and paid $35. It's the time, labor and having the tools to do so that will get you if you need to pay a shop/welder to fix for you. Mist estimates for this type of RLCA repair are in the range of $2/$3K.

Heh, going off-topic with this here question. But did you ever end up finding that old mobile phone that had the contra 4 redux game on it?

Very cool to (eventually) see what a clean RTA mount looks like from the inside. Terrible design. One winter in salt country youre fine, the next winter your car is a write off.
