This is how I stored mine and I pulled it out of a 14 year storage and after 12 pulls it started up and ran perfect.

Well the fuel in the tank also goes bad same as the fuel in the carb. Therefore i let it run until it's out of gas and then drain the carb, this way the entire fuel system including the tank is fuel free for short/long term storage,no harm in some oil in the cylinder as well.It will restart 10+ yrs from now.

I just bought 2 of these, but need to store them in a rodent proof container when not in use. Any ideas of a source for a suitable box, bin or tub? Already searched Amazon & Wal-Mart for a suitable sized plastic bin with no luck.

It’s ok to storage inside of a plastic container with a lid ?? I don’t have a garage so I have to keep it inside my shed

I've read in a few places about long periods of storage(more than 1 year) that you must COMPLETELY drain the fuel tank, here it states to follow 60day to 1yr rules and add fuel until FULL with fuel stabilizer. Am I missing something?

The idea of filling it full with fuel would eliminate the possibility of condensation inside of the tank. No air space for air ( mostly humid climates) to condensate into water. I would go with a non-ethanol marine gas if available. There is a 6+ month study going on the "Taryl Fixes All" channel for fuel storage with stabilizers updated each month.

Ethanol kills carbs , always drain completely, if being stored , it will save you a lot of time and labour when you need it to run again ,
