Why Should You Buy Honda Fit Hybrid?
Quick review after spending some time behind the wheel of the Honda Fit GP5, a less popular choice in Bangladesh but one of my personal favorites. Let's dive into the driving experience, comfort, and some interesting features.
Driving:
Honda Fit compare to Toyota, will give you the most driver-centric feel with a sporty and lowered seating position. The Earth Dreams Hybrid system, while having a few quirks like early clutch replacements, offers a delightful driving experience. The acceleration, even with a full load of five adults, is impressive. The steering is light with a touch of weight, making it sharper and more responsive than a Toyota. It handles corners with stability, feeling planted and rigid, outperforming its main competitor, the Toyota Aqua. However, the hybrid system's downside is its unrefined nature at slow speeds in town. Throttle response can be a bit sluggish, requiring a heavy foot to get going. But once the engine kicks in, the issue diminishes. The high torque generated by the motor can make the car a bit challenging to control during precise maneuvers or entering a garage with a bump.
Comfort:
Compared to the Aqua, the GP5 offers a more comfortable ride, though not as soft as a sedan like the Axio Hybrid. The seats and suspension are on the firmer side, but the car feels more comfortable than the Aqua. Notably, the leg space for both front and rear occupants is surprisingly ample for the car's size.
Interior Quality:
The interior boasts hard plastic materials, but the finish gives it an upmarket feel. Nicely finished door panels and dash with silver accents and piano black inserts set it apart from competitors like the Aqua, Vitz, and even the 3rd Gen Prius. The GP5 offers more options, including paddle shifters, brake hold, and an LCD color multi-information display.
Interesting Features and Facts:
The touch-sensitive climate control system is a unique feature not commonly found in more expensive models. During hard braking, the signal lights alert the rear driver with fast pulses. Power diminishes notably once you pass 100kmph. True to Honda's reputation, the original speakers are of high quality, so consider keeping the Japanese head unit.
