Honda Harmony 215 SD Self Propel Fix Part 1

Thanks for the video. I agree with 200zxdriver. All bolts are removable. To remove the cover, I first turned the mower with the air filter on top like you have it in your video. Then, I used a socket wrench with a 12 mm deep socket to remove the three bolts on the bottom of the mower. I removed the top wheel ( it is next to the holder (8 on the honda parts list)) to gain access to the remaining bolt. Then, I used a T-handle socket wrench to remove the bolt. When putting the cover back on, I put the bolt next to the wheel on first, since you have to maneuver the cover to align the lower hole of the cover to the upper hole of the mower deck so you can reinsert the sleeve. Then you insert the bolt into the sleeve and thread it into the threaded bore of the lower hole of the cover.

That bolt comes out I do have that exact same Mower and performed what you are doing. I think you got to take the wheel off gain access to it but regardless I think there's a little square tab behind it like a nut plate that's flat. Anyway it does come out good luck with your job

Nice video paul. My lawn mower axle does not spin when the propel cable is engaged. Whether or not the wheels are lifted doesn't help at all. when I spin the wheels, the spin freely with a ratcheting sound. Is this an indication of the gears inside the gear box being dead or is this something else? Please help me. I do not have money for a new machine. thanks.

Hey Paul. Nice video. I'm having a problem with my self-propelled HRB 215. I would suggest you check your garage for a rattle snake. Those things can be dangerous.

that side bolt does come out - after removing it - the sleeve must be pulled out and the cover will completely come off. Also when installing the big spring - install it without the belt on the motor shaft (remove blades). with the spring attached (and the cables attached properly) - use the belt to install the transmission to the proper angle.

yeah takes four hands... two to pull the transmission back against the spring enough to get the belt on... then someone to put the belt around the pulley...

that bolt on the side.... yeah i was able to take out mine ....you need a long nose pliers to hold the rectangular shape that hold the screw...underneath..... i couldn't even tell mine that there was something there.. i thought it was just that metal that sticking out that i coudln't even get a grip of it ...

That bolt is removable. Then you can remove cover completely.
