Honda Highness CB 350 "Kitna Deti Hai?": Mileage/Fuel Economy Tested

The first Honda H'ness CB350 mileage test was a big fail. This is my second attempt and I believe we do have a figure that is more believable this time. You'll have to watch the video to know how much, but I can tell you this, it will seem plenty if expectations are not unrealistic.

Anything above 40 at that speed is good for this capacity engine.. guess this will go down in city to about 35 to 38.. but still it's a good number..

@@A.V.VINOD. No. That's a myth. I carefully tested it on my gixxer 250. Absolutely no difference. It's not true for modern vehicles. It's just an excuse used by service centres when people complain about mileage. The components are now made with such precision that there won't be any problem even if you don't run in the bike. But it's still advisable to stay within half the max rpm for the 1st few 100kms.

@@iam_mk1 torque is higher at lower engine RPMs, also the BSFC(fuel consumption) is higher at lower engine RPMs! BSFC is lower in the mid range RPMs (the optimum engine RPMs), but the torque drops at higher RPMs. Look for the Torque + BSFC graph over engine RPM on google!

Any figure above 40 is a very good number for a 350CC bike. It's definitely an awesome mileage especially when your crusing speed was in the range of 90 - 100 km/hr even though lesser number of gear shifts (since it's a highway ride) are taken into consideration. With low vibration level and a good fuel economy, it's worth buying I would say since Honda engines are really topnotch. Peace of mind is ensured with Honda brands since it offers a good build quality unlike RE.

That's Honda Programmed fuel injection for you. My CBR250R also always gives an unbelievable 45-50kmpl, which most find hard to swallow. So Honda always has its bag full of tricks under its sleeve😉

I see many people commenting that 43 kmpl mileage is damn good for a 350cc bike. But don't forget this is a long stroke engine where heat loss is lesser compared to short stroke engine (that's why there is no need for liquid/oil cooling). This always gives advantage in mileage. The trade off is top speed though.

43kmpl is absolutely good for a 350cc smooth motor of a reliable and we'll built motorcycle. It should return even better fuel economy at lower RPM and if the cruising speed is maintained at around 80kmph. Very good review...very real world. I loved it...

BS6 fuels getting density values too low because of the mixing of ethanol (and other factors too)! Earlier it used to be 800 kg/m3 and now it has gone down to 700kg/m3 😅😅 You got a sub plus planning to get this bike.great one bro !

Excellent explanation of what the correct cruising speed is. That's how it is supposed to be. That is the point where the rider as well as the bike is at its peak comfort. 80-90 kmph is the optimal speed for any single cyl bike in India.
