In all honesty, she was never on my radar during PD48. She was just another trainee who's name I never bothered to learn that I'd notice from time to time. Then I dropped the show midway while it was still airing. Now that she's in the debut group, I genuinely can't imagine her not being in IZ*ONE. Now that I watch PD48 performances on KZbin, I'm instantly drawn to IZ*ONE members. Naturally, that applies to Hitomi as well. I haven't bothered watching the rest of PD48, but she improved a lot from what I remember.

something I think about a lot is that Hitomi is a part of an akb48 team that could disband at any moment. They're sponsored so Toyota could decide tomorrow that they don't want to sponsor them anymore and that might be it. Hitomi saying this was her last chance hits so hard because it could be. If she or any of the other Team 8 members weren't popular enough on the show she didn't have the guarantee she's going back to a team and employment. I also think that's why she's so thin now after their uncertainty over the new year. Again she doesn't have the same guarantee the others do that she'll have a job to go back to.
