hi frns i own honda hornet before buying i checked many bikes like gixxer,fzs2.0,fz,avenger,apache and finally i purchased hornet and i am very happy with my decision. It is the best bike, i am getting 53kmpl and it touched top of 122 kmph. Although it reaches 90 within no time but it takes some time to reach 122. It's worth ur valuable money, if u really want a beast go for hornet.

Sushant Mishra u r surly buy the bike... i also faced sound issue i never compan it bz for hornet the engine should take time to set.. the service intervel of hornet is in 6 month gap so from there we can understand the engine setting time... i love this machine... it never disappoints u ... i got the max milege of 69.3 kmpl... in the rang of 35-45kmph and the minimum milege of 52 at 70-80 kmph

Hisham Ali Yes dude.. but the only thing it lags is top end power..I have done the top speed of 121km/h.. but I would advice you to buy KTM RC390 or ninja 300 second handed as it a proper beginner bike

Guys I'm telling you the truth .It all depends on engine oil.If they use Honda engine oil then say to them to only fill jaso 10w30 fully synthetic oil.This bike doesn't need mineral oil it needs fully synthetic oil.If still it doesn't give you good feeling at riding time then use motul 10w40 engine oil.Your bike will be like angel on the road in every condition riding,heating issues etc.I did the same thing now I love my bike.

Abhik Singh. My ride is almost 11 month old. Honda SC were not able to resolve as they consider it's not a problem. So, I consider it to be a manufacturing defect. However, will advise to use Motul 5100 10w30 mobile. It will make the engine a bit smoother and better acceleration.

Nurur Khan It is a big problem which they are unable to solve. I gave it 3 times now to ASC and they changed my engine parts worth 10k but still same. I'll be making another video showing all the documents and jobsheet next week if it's not fixed this time.

Nice review though. I have bought the same version of Hornet. I don't have much issue with the engine refinement but I am facing problem while downshifting. sometimes gears get stuck in between while downshifting and i have to release clutch to get gears engaged. I have raised this issue with the Honda showroom while my 1st Servicing but that remains unsolved. I'll try to get it done during my 2nd servicing. lets see.

Hi! hornets .i have completed 6500 km on odo n here r some advice's to all . 1.some smell comes from engine n engine heats up very quick n it's every common in new bikes ,1s it's done with 1000kms no more these issue's ll b 2. remind the service guys in the 1st service r at every service interval to use only the fully synthetic oil like (cbr 150r) bcoz hornet got 6000km btw service intervals n I have noticed that at some service points they r using general mineral oil .so,make sure of it. 3.chain spoket was a problem for me as well but Honda has replaced it for free of cost ,when I have visited recently for some inspection n now I can feel some good improvement in pick up. 4. changing gears, it's advisable to change the gears at every 4k rpm u touch. 5.always fill the fuel tank fully when it falls to reserve. 6.horner has some upper hand over gixxer in terms of comfort. 7.pick up is low bcoz of that fat tyre even the cbr 150r doesn't have it if u have noticed it. it shares the cbr 250r's rear tyre.

Engine smell. Use synthetic engine oil n the smell wl reduce. Also check if there is any oil leakage near engine drain nut... This is common in hornet as there is some issue in neutral gear switch... I got that replaced from the showroom n the oil stopped leaking

i have striking green hornet just had 1st servicing yes i do agree with some point but not all of it yes sound changes of engine after some km agreed pick up is daamn cool than gixxer and other 160 bikes giving hot mileage than others hornet looks beast than gixxer if u compare apache gixxer just check out there maintanance i am happy with mah hornet rather than other bikes and am not saying that other bikes are cheap i love apache im huge fan of it but hornet is money saver and beast

gixxer have a lot of power in the low and mid revs but for honda u have really rev the bike hard to 7-8rpm to get going . gixxer is more punchier and have a very quick power delivery.

@Abhik Singh Excellent review bro, i have this model with same color. just one month old, crossed exact 632 km, but i didn't find any engine heating issue, yeah i agree with the performance issue thing and the engine sound changes after running 10 -15 km. nowadays m facing a problem at the time of shifting the gears. Engine is not smooth at-all like other Honda models..i hv raised a complain about these problems in the honda showroom & they said these problems will be solved after 3-4 servicing, so let's see. But looks wise it is the head turner in the traffic... Peace & ride safe bro..

I bought my bike in Feb2016 and till now crossed 6000Kms but yes I am also facing same kind of issues with my bike. I am very disappointed with Engine performance. I must say that, engine is not designed for what HONDA known for. Engine kill switch, switch gears, etc, etc comes very later but someone could not compromise on engine. I am trying to diagnose issue at my own level. I checked and found engine oil strainer was clogged almost 60-70 percent due to engine sealant. This was supposed to get checked at service center according to their standard inspection chart...anyway after even this I am not satisfied with engine smoothness. I personally feel that there is design issue with oil circulation in engine head, and I also feel that cylinder and head is having less length of cooling fins. Hope HONDA will address this issues in coming future.

Advice : Don't stress your engine till you complete 1000 kms. accelerate smoothly. After that you yourself will start to notice that Bike acceleration is increasing.

Whats the review is done in the video is 100% matching in my bike. Done with 5500Km, still the heating issue is there. Less pickup in 1&2 gear. Sounds hard like something hitting inside the engine. Even Honda service cannot help on this issue. They only changing oil, no better service.

Abhik Singh, Actually one of my friend having same issue like us. Service guys are not able to solve the problem. Even they made us disappointing about Honda service. And they didn't sent bike to Honda head office for service to change Engine. After lot of irritation, he sold his bike in OLX for RS 69,000. He was ride it for only 2000 Kms. Even Honda guys asked for Rs 59,000. After that I under stood, resale value of this bike is very low.

I am Hornet CBS owner, I got some little vibrations at exact speed 55 but below and above the speed of 55 no such vibrations experienced. I bought the bike exactly 1 year back. I clocked 20k+ kms in this year. I have gone for 2 long rides each being 1k+ kms. Everything I find in this video is misleading people. Engine refinement levels are awesome. You don't feel the bike vibrating till you hit 105+ and 90 to 100 is a very smooth ride. I touched 50 in the 3rd gear. I am getting a decent mileage though I never checked in km/l. Average mileage on a full tank to reserve tank is 560 kms. I can say this is the perfect bike in 150-160 cc segment. I would suggest anyone to go for Combi Brake Model as it will be useful for controlling your bike at higher speeds. 80 kmph to 30 kmph in 2 seconds. The only problem you might face is chain will be becoming loose for every 1500 kms and it requires a little tuning. The head lamp and horn is not upto the mark and you can change them if required. The only thing I can say is this review is not correct and totally misleading people..

mostly probably the service guys will change the engine oil in your bike in third service & after that the bikes acceleration will increase. To put simply the characteristics of the bike changes after Second engine oil change .

This bike is quite economical in terms of maintenance but the engine performance is not well, vibration is too high and #pickup which is very low. most important thing is it emits huge heat for a drive of just 12-15kms. overall it's not up to the mark which consumers expect from Honda.

hey...bro... felt sad for u...! But I think u have got the wrong piece... I too own a honda hornet 160R the earlier version...driven almost 3600 km...its...just superb...I don't face any problems às u... It turns like anything...jus6 can't explain the turning experience...its just awesome...and the... engine is smooth too...I use the engine oil from VALVOLINE 10W-50 and it keeps the engine cool even at top speed...I recommend u too use the...same... type of engine oil... rather than Honda's own engine oil....it just sucks....too many gear shifting problems and Engine vibrations too...so go for 10W-50 rather than the ordinary one 20W-40. Hope my comment is useful to u..bro...!

that poor guy have got a decetive model ..I too am a owner of this model hornet orange black...been riding it for 3 months ..it is very good..only problems i u ill have a chain sound...it is not a problem only a sound ,,wont harm ur riding .apply chain spary every 800 km..and u are gud to go,,one gud thing this color ..it is matt finish ,,so no scratch problem and u can easliy wash off the mud ,,nd it looks fresh as ever..reached 115kmph price 1.02..add fitting like crash guard etc..1500..total 1.04.nd no regrets..:)

I have got my engine crank shaft and piston replaced by the ASC .. its been about 800km and its doing better but not much pickup now .

There is problem for gear shifting it's get rough and when you go more than 6000-7000 rpm engine chenge the firing

Hornet owners or anybike owners specialy with the bike who run on carborator...do not ever let the outside mechanics play with the fuel mixture screw...unless you do not have any other option...agar wo company sttings se hilta hai to wapis set hone mein dikat hogi...same with tappet settings...do not let the mechanics or anyone play with the tappets...agar tappet gap chid gaya to wapis accuracy nadi mushkil se ayegi...ye dono ko na chedo to bike mast chalta rahega time pe oil change karo...oil ko uski life se zyada mat khencho...

Ramji V this bike is meant for city use and occasional tour so the power band is post 5k rpm... you will get the punch if you desire...who does 60kph on a busy traffic?

I had Apache 180 .My bike would stress too much after 6k rmp .. bikes speed simply won't increase so easily after that. I too was thinking that its a major problem . But it isn't everything became nornal once i changed my engine oil for 1st time at 1st service. Then after changing engine oil for 2nd time at third service the bike normal it easily crossed 9-10k rpm at ease

A word of advice, don't ride your bike above 50 km/h and above 6000 rpm before the first 2000 km,, which is called the break in period.

Please don't listen to this nonsense. Honda hornet is best bike on road, Its acceleration and deceleration both are best so you can overtake any other vehicle on road. you will be always ahead. The feel is like racing bike when you see other bikes failing to cross you, the sound is very much like racing bike you hear on TV. don't listen to anyone just take a test ride and you will understand what i mean. Only drawback of this bike is that you cannot ride like a gentleman, you have open the throttle and race ahead. Excellent grip on road and very balanced. more stable than my earlier bike honda unicorn.

Day after day "KING'S HORSE TURNED TO A DONKEY". This is completely applicable to Honda (Japanese Technology). I am fully dissatisfied with Honda hornet (Mileage/ performance / Engine overheat/ Sound pollution etc). My sincere advice never ever do same mistake like me.

Mayank Parmar I would not suggest Hornet I am facing engine heat issue ... it's 700km on odo now . I had an Apache 160 before this .. it had a lovely pickup. Check out bajaj 150ns I guess it will launch soon .

Mayank Parmar Hornets's initial pickup is not good only comes in after 5k rpm.. Gixxer is better but the pillion seat is bit small . Test Gixxer and Pulsar AS150.
