Honda Jazz Hybrid EX Style Review

The Honda Jazz has been a runaway success since it's launch, and it's had a style upgrade for 2022.
"We have developed this car as a product that has the ability to enrich the daily lives of those who use it," explains Takeki Tanaka, Jazz Large Project Leader, and it utilises the Japanese concept of "Yoo no bi"
This new trim adds to the looks, giving you even more to love.
Economy - already ridiculously good thanks to the sorcery wielded by Honda - is now even better thanks to it's Hybrid powertrain, but don't worry, you don't have to plug it in! It's made up of two high-energy-density electric motors (generator and impeller), a 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine, a lithium-ion battery and a fixed transmission.
Its hybrid system offers CO2 emissions from 110 g / km (WLTP) and 4.8 l / 100 km (WLTP)
The new 16 inch alloy wheels really stand out, and work well with the two-tone look from the door mirrors and roof.

I came to see your review because I'm picking up my EX on Wednesday, the tech stuff seems easy to navigate so I can't wait. I love it in pearl & black but they gave me an offer I can't refuse so I'll have to learn to love the Crystal Red.

I purchased petrol Jazz 5-6 years ago. It was not the most equipped variant. The price was about 103K NIS. Now the price for a similar model (not the "Executive" variant) is about 130K. F-ck, it's so expensive- the price rised about 30%. The saving on fuel won't justify for me the extra pay for the new car, because I don't travel much. Things that are bad with Jazz: 1. Design (my taste) 2. Noise in cabine. It's difficult to speak during driving. These 2 issues were in the previous model and in the new one. Another issue with my car is that it felt cheap, because of the interior design and quality. The most annoying thing in the new Jazz is that it doesn't have a spare tire, even not a space saver!!! It has a spray instead ! The things I very love: 1. Magic Seats. It was one of the main reasons why I purchased this car 2. Extremely reliable. Since I purchased this car 6 years ago I had zero problems. Why I would still be interested in this car? Safety - it has 10 airbags and some new modern safety features.

On decent roads it’s quiet, slight road noise but nothing in this gen or previous gen that overpowers talking unless it’s a badly maintained track road. Yes Honda are typically super reliable, currently all prices are up across the world. Are you getting a new one or something else?

@@PlanetautoUK I have been considering a new car. With the high prices + our(Israel) insane taxes on new cars (100%), looks like I won't buy a new car this year. If I change my mind then I will consider Skoda Fabia vs Honda Jazz vs Huindai Kona. I like Super mini cars as it's easier to find parking. A new interesting car that will arrive in our country in the beginning of 2023 is Civic Hybrid. I assume it will be priced very high, pity... I see Honda has been becoming less and less popular in Europe / Israel.

@@PlanetautoUK I'm fairly sure a new Jazz EX could be bought for circa £23k, Crosstar circa £24k if you're prepared to shop around. My mother bought a Crosstar EX brand new for £22k just over a year ago. Of course if you looked on Autotrader there were some dealers asking £25/26k at the time.

Realistically speaking this would be the perfect car for my needs, but at this price point it's not competitive at all. Starting price in Croatia is €24.390,00. It was launched in 2020 and so far I'm still waiting to see one in the traffic. Not a very popular option, I guess.
