I own a jazz sport, the reason i choose the jazz over models like the polo, ford, Toyota was 1. It has six airbags. 2. The longer warranty. 3. More power with better fuel economy compared to polo, fiesta, yaris, I20 4. Isofix and magic seats 5. Lower insurance costs compared to Toyota and vw. 6. Bigger leg room in the rear. But i agree honda should have fitted a manual gearbox on it.

I had a manual version, the engine is quite sporty, but the chassis, brakes and overall behaviour is absolutely sporty

The engine actually makes a good sound... with a 6 speed manual it will be a completely different car. For the price though, I'd much rather buy the Swift Sport

The Smooth Shifter the jazz is better than swift sport

@@Cpm_guide Well, I suppose it must be more practical than the Swift Sport. However, the Swift Sport has more power, more torque, weighs less and comes with a 6 Speed manual. Oh and it's more affordable than the Jazz as well. I love Honda, my dream car is the Fk8 Type R.... but the Jazz doesn't do anything for me.

The Smooth Shifter the jazz looks better and is a 6 speed manual as well and has rear diffuser and comes with sport mode and it’s more fun to drive than a swift sport

The Smooth Shifter it might have more power than the jazz but it still lower to 0-60

@@Cpm_guide I'm assuming that you don't live in South Africa. Here the Jazz is only available with a CVT if you go for the Sport trim. Which gives it a 0 - 62mph acceleration of above 9 seconds. CVT and sport should never be combined in my opinion, as it completely ruins the driving experience. That's all I have to say. 👍🏻

Thanks for the video, good to have a ZA perspective, well done. Very cool car, skyride blue makes it stand out, rarer than most exotics LOL! Great car around our big cities, see my comments in Car Magazine August 2018 on this car and CVT. Amazing on open road. Has enough power, and handles well, check out 77 Kmph. Changed stock tyres to 195/50R16 Falkens, huge improvement all round, should be the standard tyre, IMHO. Wish it had native Carplay though.

Hey man, nice video. I have a sport model in silver. Great car to get around in and fuel is good. A bit bumpy as you said. Wish it had a more powerful engine. When you put your foot down for a while it goes. Also got it brand new and didn’t pay that price haha. Happy with the car but wish Honda just went full out and did a Honda jazz type R. If they ever do one, I’ll get that lol Great stuff with the videos, keep it up man 🤞🏼

Cvt's do take a bit of getting used to but they have come a long way since the first versions of cvt across all brands.

Looks like a mini Type R. You are right, it needed a more sporty drivetrain to make it a true sports car or even a luke warm hatch. It is a great family car. We have had a couple and they are fantastic. This one is in the middle, family but want to be sporty, but the gearbox is letting it down big time. Problem with most japanese car makers now. They only do cvt now

So I ended up getting a 2022 Honda Fit 89kW CVT. Extremely practical car. Got tired of worrying about reliability and fuel consumption and Honda are still offering really good deals on their floor models. Haha. Yes, this is what happens when we get older. I would have gotten the 97kW model in this video or a refreshed version with the updated infotainment system(AA/Carplay) if I could find one at a decent price, but it seems like these 97kW models are priced at a bit of a premium.

I love the fun handling sleeper potential aspect of Jazz's, like you said the CVT and price made this car a bit lost in the market. In some Asian countries these 97kw GK5s are available in manual and often modded. I thought that was the case here but was disappointed to see the manuals are equipped with the older 88kw 1.5... still not a poor performer for its class though.

Hey I think the car is pretty good the only down fall on there new cars is the fact that it's boot space and back part of the car is is cut off short..... Further on the car is a good car even tho I'm a 🇩🇪 fan the car looks pretty good.

Awesome video! 100% this needed 6 speed manual and the engine is probably one of the best in the segment for a small car. but but but that is were it stops though other than that everything falls short . This is more for old people who won't by the sport probably a trim level down and young people won't buy it but maybe slight maybe Honda fanboys will pick this up. Anyway possible you can do a review on the 2020 honda ballade?

I think you confusing a honda civic type r with the jazz sport that's meant to be a versatile family car with small dimensions ...1.5 engine for tax in certain asian markets .Not everyone wants a hot or warm hatch just a car with decent looks my opinion of course.

Hi, I tested one of these which was advertised from a dealer but although i liked it even with the CVT i dident like the way it steered like as though the castor is set too much as it wants to center itself back quickly into to going in a dead straight line and although it handles well this feeling spoils it If you know what i mean. I wonder if the 1.3 model with the standard tyers feels better or is there a tweek to fix the sport out there to make it feel better in this dept? Anyone!?

I am based in Windhoek, Namibia and I driven two generations of Honda Jazz 1.5 CVT but they are quick on acceleration and very economical. My only problem is the price, why would I buy this vehicle for R 350,000 and after 3 years the value drops and somebody imports the same Jazz for only R 60,000 from Singapore. I feel Honda must look at both sides especially in countries like Namibia where import cars are dominating

I am a honda lover and it is my brand till I die, but honestly honda has lost there way I feel, would love to have seen the jazz with a proper gearbox and that way pulled a market that they could target, honda owners created a culture of honda amazing, I dont think this car would full in that field

The manual version is much more fun. The CVT spoils this model . my 2013 manual is faster than this CVT version.I was going to upgrade to this newer model but the CVT and price discouraged me. Honda is not selling the manual version in our market .
