Honda Odyssey Radio Code Reset (How to Unlock a 'locked' radio)

I followed the instructions in the video and got the needed code just as it said. I called the dealership and the receptionist mentioned that THE CODE IS PRINTED ON A STICKER IN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT! Indeed that is where I found it. I tried the procedure in this video but it didn't work on my 2004 Odyssey. But I read the comment from Matthew Kline (below) about the sticker and I did find the sticker in the glove compartment and it worked great. The sticker had the code and the serial number printed on it.

I did exactly what you said but I already have the code so I did not need to call the Honda dealer I have my five-digit code in front of me but when I turn the car on the display says code error e. So how do I get that code error display to clear whenever I tried to type in my five digit code it would only add letters at the end of the word code it would never actually put my code number I have a 2010 Honda Odyssey

+cring333 The 8 digit radio serial number is fine to have any digits in it. You don't type that number into the radio - but rather use that number to get the 5 digit unlock code. The website is listed below or call a dealership and most will get it for you.

No need to call dealer. I had the anti theft card with code they give you when you buy car. That code worked. Windshield had crack so they replaced. Then radio didn’t work. Now works!

You need the serial number to get the code, I found my serial number on the side of the glove box and top of the radio, then call the dealership for the code once you find the serial number. I have a 2007, previous owner must of kicked it in, so I had to replace the radio. Used on ebay, make sure part number (find on radio or get from dealership with VIN#) and alarm type ( find front of radio right hand side) match or it wont work right.

Tried to hold preset buttons 1 + 6 on a 2003 and didn't give a serial #. Don't now if it was because I repaired the battery cable or left the keys in the ignition overnight after working on the front-end. But this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen on a vehicle. If the ignition hadn't already been replaced by aftermarket, I probably wouldn't even be able to start the stupid thing.

I do appreciate the information, so don't get me wrong - this comment is directed more at Honda. I see a comment about the wisdom (or lack thereof) of locking a car radio, and I completely agree. I've never seen that before, and it makes no sense to me. If it was some super high end option, then, yeah, I guess. But it's a car radio. As hot goods for resale, it might command as much as $10, if you could find a Honda owner than needed one. But my comment isn't even about that asinine decision. WTF is the good of a security code that you can just phone the dealer and get for free? If someone has the physical access to steal it, they can add a quick and simple little routine to unlock it at the same time. What they've managed to create is a smallish pain in the ass for the owners.

Hondas are EXPENSIVE vehicles to own, and sadly I've put more money into repairs in my 4 yrs of owning an Odyssey than any other Ford/Chevy/GMC/Olds vehicles I've owned. Mine had a weird variation of this: it said 'RADIO CO' , and as I pushed the arrow keys, the remaining letteres 'DE' filled in. Then I entered the actual number and it did finally work! What a fiasco for a stupid factory radio!! Only an ignorant thief would even WANT to steal one of these! :D
