Have you addressed the leaking tube seals? I am 0 for 2 so far on the rear bank. I was super careful the last time too. Very frustrating!!!

You are so correct. The first time I replaced them, almost all of them were leaking within a year. This was actually the second time I did it. 2 of the seals in the rear bank are leaking again. The one in the middle (rear) and the three in the front bank are fine. I’m going to take it apart again to inspect. I wonder if I need to hammer them in a bit (new tube seals) further so the top of the metal tubes leading from the spark plugs aren’t pushing into the rubber as much?

@@lmsdiyI think you maybe onto something with the depth of the seals. I believe the original seals from the factory were driven past flush with the valve cover hole. I believe if they are flush with the valve cover hole, it leaves a couple MM before bottoming out in the hole. This means the top of the tube must pass a couple MM through the seal and perhaps the seal is just meant to touch the top of the tube. I originally thought the tube passing through the hole was better, but I saw a diagram in the service manual that looked like the seal was just touching the top of the tube. Thanks for replying. I think now I am going to try to get the seal driven all the way down in the hole and see how it goes.

@@lmsdiyBeing here in CA, I should be able to get to it this weekend or next (plus being the 3rd time pulling valve covers, let's just say I am learning the process well.) I feel a bit energized now since it may just be a matter of installing the seals deeper and not my technique of how I install the cover. I will definitely post here with the results. I think you are in CAnada. Whereabouts?
