Great job! At 5’5”, you’d be the tallest in my family 😂 (I’m only 4’11”, and my mom was shorter.) I love this color of the 500-I had a 2019 Rebel 500, and traded it in for my 1100, but I’m considering a 500 again after having rented one in Hawaii. I missed how light it is and to be able to flat foot a bike!

I was blessed to have a mate who got his L's around the same time as i did so i always had someone to ride with. Instead of thinking of every ride as practice it was more about just hanging out with a friend. Made those first few stressful months of learning a breeze. I haven't ridden in 4 years and im picking up a new rebel 500 in a few weeks. Im so pumped!

This is awesome! I've recently gotten the motorcycle bug and am hoping to take the MSF course soon so I can learn to ride! I've also been researching as to what will be the best first bike for me and the Honda Rebel 500 has been on my radar for awhile, and the more I think about it and research, it seems like the best suited bike for me once I do the MSF course and get my endorsement, so it's nice to find someone who's riding and enjoying it so I can see how it rides and handles. Looks like a wonderful and very forgiving bike! Very proud of you for the accomplishment you've achieved!! Stay safe out there and have fun!

Hey AB, at the 7:23 & the 7:43 minute mark- there was a green light on your dash dial that lit up, and, a couple other times in the early part of the video-what was that "idiot light" at the center of the dash for? I'm seriously considering the rebel 500 for my first bike(I'm 58 years young now) I know I need to start out on a small "cc"d motorcycle. Doug🏍️👍😁🤓😎

Hello Douglas! That’s the Neutral indicator. You will never regret it when you get a rebel 500. As long as you know what you’re getting (its limitations) you will be pretty much happy and contented. I love it so much!

An MSF course is worth it. It might seem a bit pricey, but that's another thing you will learn if you're a beginner; not much about motorcycling is actually cheap,,,,,,,,except gas if you're getting like 50+ MPG, or you get an inexpensive used bike and intend on doing almost no maintenance to it. You focus on the sticker price of a bike, then you decide to get it, then you can easily spend another $1000 on helmet, jacket, gloves, boots, riding pants, a lock, cover, phone mount, tank or tail bag.....

How did you practice downshifting in the neighborhoods? I’m barely practicing and I’ve honestly just been on second gear the whole time My first bike is a Honda shadow 750 I got it off my neighbor 😅
@BayawKhem6 ай бұрын
@@chimichanga6089 Not sure how to explain it since im a visual learner, so I watch a lot of youtube videos about downshifting lol But first, I ride my bike only every sunday morning lol no traffic around my neighborhood during that time. Look for a straight road to practice going up at least to third gear. When you are about stop, use engine breaking (while putting slight pressure on front break) then as you slow down, you downshift to lower gear to match the speed (while adding more pressure on breaks, gradually). Motojitsu has a lot of informative videos on yt. I’m not really good in explaining lol
