Honda sells the Ruckus to people wanting a legal moped/scooter not requiring a motorcycle license. In VA, that 35 mph limited. Making it faster bumps it out of that market.

In Texas you need a license. The Ruckus will do 40. Mine used to do 42 but needs a new belt now and tops out at 38.

I got a 24 ruckus in October I already got 1400 miles on it, I live in Pittsburgh and love to ruck lol..but definitely got upgrade to adv 160 very soon, the ruck is perfect for city rides, but I don't like riding in city and want do some motto camping this spring, but for a camp bike or strictly city commute it is perfect, but to travel a whole state or tri state got get least a 125 to 160 bike

Sounds like you’re riding the wheels off your Ruckus. That’s awesome. A faster bike does give you a few more road options if you’re traveling across state, I agree.

I'm curious; are you allowed (by law) to ride the Ruckus on roads where the speed limit is more than 45 mph? Here in Washington state, motorized scooters are limited by the top speed on the speedometer as to which roads they can be on. One survival/visibility rule I follow is to be in the area of the lane of travel where I'm able to see the face of the driver in the rear view mirror. I've seen some scooters staying in the center of the lane, which I feel is way less visible. I'd rather "stake my claim" to the section of the road I'm on.

There are some roads with posted minimums in Texas. I would avoid those roads anyway. I do not agree with your road strategy but each to his own. Stay safe and thanks for the comment!

So I’ve ridden on roads that are more than 45mph… basically with me being alert as I am, if I see cars coming up I always scoot the the right of the road and on the shoulder to let people pass me. As far as where I’m at, people tend to respect my space when I’m riding, but just like what Dondular said, be nice and let the people who are faster to pass you. But can you ride on let’s say 60+mph roads? Well yes, but no lol

@@Slo49cc Thanks for the comment. A more thoughtful response than mine and I appreciate it. Road strategies are hard to explain in the comment section which is why I made a few videos on the basic strategies that work for me.
