Those glory days are here again with the Honda CB1100 TR Concept.
It starts with that bulldog stance, supplied by an Öhlins fork and shocks that cozy up to some serious slicks and impressive braking componentry.
Then, Honda starts pouring on that superbike inspired design. Lights, signals, and the like have all been binned for a number plate up front honoring the late Marco Simoncelli, while superbike-inspired bodywork significantly slims up the profile over the stock bike.
The Termignoni exhaust seems primed to belch out fury, and yeah, it also has a GoPro embedded in the number plate so you can record your Spencer-esque exploits.
I want one.
Will Honda make it? Most likely not. But. BUT, they should. The CB1100 is fast, expensive, and heavy. It is no cafe racer; it’s a full-blown muscle bike that is forced to compete with more delicate machinery
However, throw a number plate on it and let it revel in its ‘70s muscularity and you have the perfect bike.
The Thruxton R may personify that ‘60s cafe racer vibe, but the CB1100 would own ‘70s steeze.
They may never make it, but it wouldn’t hurt to start growing that mustache now, just in case they change their mind.
