My mighty CB125e has come up for rego. Here are a few things that I like and a few things I have found to dislike about it. Also, should you own one? To send me mail: PO Box 45 West Hoxton NSW, Australia, 2171

They're a bike everyone should have. With a lock box installed, you can dash out, park right in front of the shops and grab your necessities. A very comfy riding position on them too.

It is a great little bike. I think a lock box on any small bike makes it perfect for inner city commuting and small errand runs.

I've owned three of these in my time, bought and sold as I've left and come back to Australia. They really are fantastic machines. I've been living in Asia for the past 9 months or so, and just wrapped up 7500 kms through Vietnam and Laos and on a very similar 110cc Honda. This type of simple motorcycle is the lifeblood of millions of people in Asia, and no doubt throughout the world. I hope Australia is lucky enough to continue to recieve such an awesome bike. The day I land back in Sydney I will buy another! Great video mate, all the best!

Sadly, they are no longer being imported to Australia. People have been snapping up the last of the new ones.

Actually I dild my 3 bike in February because I needed money for medical emergency overseas. I sold my 2007 Yamaha scorpio and then my 2013 Honda cb500f and 2 weeks later I sold my 2017

Barkbusters make hand guards for them too ... makes it way better in winter ... gloves don't get as wet and they stay warm ... also makes your bike way easier to spot in a crowded stand.

I bought mine second hand for 900$ iv had it since November 2022 it's never let me down the only time I stressed out was locking the steering i didn't have a clue how to unlock it until I found the little magnet on the key thanks to a video maybe you should of mentioned that in your video i use mine to commute from home to my chemist and back 2 or 3 time's a week it's done just on 25kms now iv only changed the oil and adjusted the chain and oiled it you can't get cheaper transport than a 125cc Honda my other bike's an FJR 1300 another very reliable motorcycle'im almost 65 in August so will be keeping them both the only issue iv had with the Yamaha FJR was the ignition switch the barrel wore out it's back in action now and will probably outlive me stay safe and upright love from Australia 🦘🌏

I have a 1998 Yamaha XVS650 .. as well as my CB125e, I will never get rid of that small bike (I am in Australia too) this bike is great, I had to modify it slightly to go on the highway, i am fit and I weigh 65 KG so it does get up to 100... eventually but its fantastic when I dont have a lot of money for fuel, its not a worry at all.

Have you looked into getting a big bore kit for it? The Australian bb kit is over $500. I have been trying to find something cheaper overseas

The 185cc kits used to be reasonably priced. Check this site for perfmance parts. They are based in Australia and he has tested his products. www.highoctanecommuting.com.au/shop/2-home

It's my first bike with an ixil exhaust, I love it, it's great fun but I seriously wish it had the grunt to get up to speed. It's just not safe to take on the freeway, even going up bad down hills I find myself downshifting 2 gears just to get up the other side. Have you found anything to bump up the performance at all? Obviously it's still a 125 so not a rocket by any means but I feel it should just have a bit more grunt
@RoadsOfOz Жыл бұрын
Check out High Octane commuting channel for performance upgrades of the CB125E. www.youtube.com/@highoctanecommuting3862/videos In all honesty, you would be better off upgrading the bike. If you want more power in a similar looking bike, check out a Royal Enfield Meteor. I will be interested to see how the new CB125F performs.
@theaustralianconundrum Жыл бұрын
@@RoadsOfOz Just bought a new 2022 CB125F from Peter Stevens. $3,500 rideaway. They claim 10.7bhp in old speak. I'm coming off 200bhp litre sportbikes for the road and going back to trackdays. Road law penalties are simply ridiculous nowadays. But I still like the road freedom to get out and about in a country living environment. I don't ride in metro areas. To be honest? It handles reasonably well in the twisties once some air pressure has been dropped. Absolute hoot wearing off the rubber from the footpegs in 80KMH corners. Brakes are adequate and it's smooth with amazing fuel efficiency. On flat or very moderate inclines and downhill it's easily capable of 80KMH with a nice flow and with my leathers on I can get my knee down without issues. Absolute hoot! PS* I'm 64 years of age and now at 5'10" @ 100kg's I'm very heavy so I was surprised it can actually haul me around. You should see the P platers on the weekends. I go past them like they are going backwards. These kids shouldn't even be on the roads. LOL Cheers.

Hey mate. Looking at purchasing one of these bikes and was wondering what top box you have on the bike
@RoadsOfOz2 жыл бұрын
It is a Givi Monokey 30 litre. It mounted easily to the bike. If I had my time again, I would go up a Size on top box. When buying one, make sure your helmet fits inside easily.

Hey mate, does it cope with few kilometres on the 100 zone?? How many ks per tank should I expect??? Cheers
@RoadsOfOz9 ай бұрын
Maybe a couple. Mine was maxxed out at 105klm/h. Fuel economy was around 3.5 litres per 100 klm. But I am over 100kg. So if you are lighter than me, it should be a bit less.

@RoadsOfOz Жыл бұрын
I used the fitting kit supplied the the Givi monokey. I had to drill the rack that is on the back of the Honda CB125E. Once it was bolted on, it was no hassle. Just a tip with the install. Keep the rack far enough back that you can remove the seat.
