How'd it go? Any issues you'd mention to somebody getting ready to do a tear down? I got a 95 1100 ACE with the single crank pin

Lately my bike has been slipping when I am in a gear and put more throttle on it. Is that just the clutch plates wearing?

Hey could you help me out with this, which side of the engine to I disassemble to take my transmission out and replace it?
@mrcyclejohn5 жыл бұрын
You have to do a complete tear down of the engine to access the transmission. Go slow and pay attention to where the sealing O-rings are located and to the location and placement direction of the thrust washers.

my transmission on my VT1100T wont engage into Second, it falls back into nuetral when i try to shift, that's a bent or screwed shift fork isnt it?
@mrcyclejohn5 жыл бұрын
Just saw your question. Sometimes with your problem it's just the shifting linkage that needs to be taken apart and lubed. Sometimes the left or right side crankcase covers have been removed to do other work and when they are re-installed the end of one of the spindle shafts isn't seated correctly in the cover and the teeth on the spindle shafts don't align properly. Did the problem start after other work was done? If yes, remove covers, align spindle teeth, and re-install covers making sure the spindle shafts are sitting in the correct bores inside of the covers.If that isn't it, then yes, the shift fork and dog ears on the 2nd gear are suspect and need to be looked at.

Where is overdrive gear?

This is why I don't speed shift and never recommend it. It's to risky and not worth it unless you're a professional racer for profit.
