I had eibach dual rates on my 1000s . Best upgrade for ride quality and clearance. I went with Shock Therapy for the new build. They arrived yesterday, still waiting patiently on the RZR to come in.

I've since sold this machine, but the ST springs really helped the ride quality and kept the ride height where it needed to be. I've got a Turbo S Velocity now and also have a set of ST springs on it that I installed when it was brand new because I liked them that much. Happy to report positive results on this machine as well.

I ran the dual rate springs for months. Rear spare tire mount and The RIS takes it to another level. Just Springs makes a small difference compared to rear spare with RIS. IQS is a waste of money unless you race competitively.

I've watched your ST video and appreciate the info. I'd like to have the RIS, but will hold off for a while since just the springs are such an improvement for my riding style. I was curious about your iQS thoughts and it didn't initially seem like something that I could justify buying since I'm almost always 10-15 mph trail riding.

Jason Hi Jason! IQS is expensive and it won’t be worth the money for most people. I absolutely love it and use it all the time. You are basically able to adjust all 4 shocks instantly. Even on my Mexico to Canada trip I use it all the time. As soon as I hit asphalt, I put it Into stiff. For the race track or long distance racing, it’s a must have. If you’re doing slow trails and want a smooth ride, it probably won’t be worth the money. It makes a night and day difference for cornering. It cuts the suspension roll way down when you flip it into stiff. I love it, but it’s expensive. Hopefully this helps a little.

Hey man, appreciate all the videos you make for the Talon. I just got a set of Bandit utv tender springs in. I was considering returning them and getting the shock therapy springs after watching this. I know you had the tender springs first, did they make much of a difference at all compared to the full set of ST springs? I live in TN and probably ride the same trails you do in my 1000x. Thanks in advance.

Sure thing - glad you like the videos. First things first - I haven’t owned the Bandit tender springs for my machine so I can’t comment on how well they perform on a Talon. The tender springs that I had were from AllThingzUTV. The ST full spring kit is night and day better than just the ATUTV tender springs in terms of ride quality. Second thing - if you can manage the cost of a full spring kit, then I’d absolutely recommend a full kit. You’ll get an even further tuned combination of spring rates and lengths that should work together for a better ride. I think Bandit also offers a full kit as well as ST and Weller, but I’m not 100% positive.

Hi Jason. I’m going to have my dealership install the Shock Therapy solution. How detailed are the instructions? The dealer has a very competent shop but this will be their first install of this product. Are the instructions very specific regarding the exact measurements and alignments? If not, does Shock Therapy offer good support?
@chrispassio63334 жыл бұрын
Hey Jason. Chris here. I just installed the same spring kit on my 1000R. I followed the written instructions on ST website for the PL and CO settings. After loose install and settle, I measured roughly 18" of clearance F&R. I do run 30" tires but after the first measurement, I was shocked to see that number following the instructions. I raised the PL to obtain roughly 15" of clearance but then my crossover was butted up against the divider. So I then raised the CO to get roughly 1" of space between the top of the divider. I'm curious to what your final measurements are so I can see if I Fff'd up. I did notice while jacked up at full sag, the springs weren't loose but close to the point where slight spring movement seems very possible while riding. Hopefully you can provide some information to help. Thsnks

So have you put an miles on the Rig and come to a final measurement set point for the rings yet? Wondering because I hate the way mine were set and I am adjusting them this afternoon. Cheers man and good looking rig.

How detailed are the Shock Therapy instructions? I’m going to have my dealership install the new shocks and want them to be aware of all the measurements and part placements. They have a very competent shop but this will be their first Shock Therapy installation.
@Jason____3 жыл бұрын
They offer installation videos on KZbin that are very good. However, keep in mind that the measurements they provide are not the end-all-be-all measurements and every person's machine will require adjustments due to differences in weight. Also, tire size needs to be taken into account when setting ride height. The ultimate goal is to get the ride height set correctly while using their suggested preload/crossover measurements simply as a starting point. Do not expect to install these once and not have to adjust them at all. Fully expect 2 or three adjustments to set the initial ride height (with you in the machine) and then one additional adjustment about 300 miles after installation. Here's a link to their R installation video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXm1eaysbpylmtk&ab_channel=ShockTherapyllc

Jason, thanks for the detailed video and your tips / cautions, really helpful ! Seems you added your ride review to the the beginning of the video you posted several weeks ago which helped me pull the trigger on ordering a set for my Talon R even before hearing your results. It seems like your Preload and crossover settings differ from the suggestions from ST. Questions: 1. Wondering if you recorded the actual part numbers from the springs you received and what they were ? 2.) Did you adjust preload without removing springs ?
@Jason____4 жыл бұрын
Yes, my preload and crossover settings do differ. Keep in mind that Shock Therapy's measurements are intended to be starting points to get you close and you'll need to fine tune to your configuration. 1) My spring part numbers are as follows: Front Upper = 05236 Front Lower = 002341 Rear Upper = 002301 Rear Lower = 003361 2) Yes, I adjusted my preload without removing the springs entirely. However, I did go ahead and remove the entire shock and compress the main springs since it makes the adjustment that much faster overall. When trying to adjust them on the machine you can only get 1/8 - 1/4 turn at a time and it takes just as long (if not longer) to do that as it does to remove the entire shock and adjust preload that way unless you only need to move the preload nut 1/4" or less.

@@Jason____ Thanks for the sanity check, sharing your experience and the details. I have the same spring part numbers as you, and i understand that ST gives us the starting point. My borrowed spring compressor was a pain to use (worn out and a little larger hooks than i'd like) and without a proper spanner wrench I couldn't see how to adjust P/L conveniently. Will have to put in the work, after getting a better compressor. Thanks again for your well made and helpful videos and forum posts. . .

Have you riden the livevalve or any other sxs? Debating in getting a livevalve r or maybe saving that money and just doing the springs like your did to a r
@Jason____3 жыл бұрын
I have not ridden a Live Valve Talon, but I have ridden a Live Valve RZR Turbo S. If I were shopping for a Talon I would absolutely buy the Live Valve model. For $2100 difference (on MSRP pricing) it's a no-brainer for the Talons. Now, for the RZRs I actually now own a Turbo S Velocity and did not opt for the Turbo S Dynamix (Live Valve). The reason I chose to not buy the Dynamix model is it's not worth $5,700 (on MSRP pricing) difference for my riding terrain and riding style. I put a Shock Therapy spring kit on my Turbo S Velocity and it rides phenomenal for what I do on the East coast. The Turbo S Dynamix also gets you some upgrades aside from the Live Valve suspension that I was either going to upgrade anyway or simply didn't need so the additional cost didn't make sense for me. If they offered the Turbo S with just Live Valve and not the Ride Command, painted plastics, door speakers, etc...I would've bought it. But again, if you can afford the Live Valve on a Talon I'd absolutely go for it and then also add a ST spring kit down the road to make it even better.

@@Jason____ Thanks for the reply ,great videos by the way. I want the talon because of the dct and build quality, went to several dealers but they just put me on the passenger seat around the parking lot so I'm debating on what unit to get. The x3 rr sounds like it's a good machine I just dont like the belt side of it.

No, I have mine connected.

Would the dual rate spring kit make the handling worse ?
@Jason____4 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. There are a ton of variables to consider, but you may notice some additional body roll on hard surfaces. Again, though, it'll depend on where and how you ride.
